Alright everyone, I'm gonna keep this short and sweet .

One of my all time best friends was just released from prison (DONT ask, non violent) and i plan to hook him up with some music he has maybe missed in the last 3-5 years. I have my own ideas but wanted some outside influence...

He's a 90s junkie ... Nirvana, Alice In Chains , Soundgarden Pearl Jam etc... Tool, Pink Floyd zeppelin Beatles.. the usual...

Personally I'll be suggesting ...

Opeth
Porcupine tree
New mastodon
New baroness
youth lagoon
New puscifer
new Bowie
Animals as leaders
Adrien Belew
badbadnotgood

Shoot hit post on accident...

Others too. But that's where I'm heading... what about y'all?

Especially releases in last couple years...

If all he likes is radio music then all he needs to do is keep living by it.

Haha cmon man (woman?)

He's just a pup only 28 .

He's fully aware of Zappa and most music that most people know.. and he's a hell of a musician himself .

My thoughts were to get him some stuff that he may have Missed in the last few years... I don't adhere to the "there's no good new music these days " ... so I know there's good stuff out there that is newer...

Any suggestions of some non "radio music"?

Great suggestions.

Was planning On throwing him the Lennon clay pool album... saw that show in Detroit btw.. killer.

He's knows Zappa, he never really loved the More progressive stuff much to my shagrin ... but I'm hoping a reformed man might have reformed music taste!

Just saw Belew for the 2nd time in detour also... best show is years also check out the Alex Skolnick Trio equally as awesome yet differnt

If he's only familiar with the 90s(late 80s too) hits he missed a lot that can be just as good as new stuff these days!

Such as the Sub Pop 100 and others over time signed to it;
