probably. This happened about ten minutes away close to USF. Very strange turn of events, but I suspect the whole story is not out there.

Then Buddhism has got to go..

Obviously this is a problem with buddism as a whole and should somehow be the responsibility of all buddists.....

Pol Pot did not commit genocide in the name of Biddhism though.

He did it in the name of communism.

The Khmer Rouge killed many buddhist monks.

So it turns out the Neo-Nazi roommate arrested for having explosive material is a national guard reserves man. And the killer is now claiming that he acted to stop his neo-nazi roommates from committing acts of domestic terrorism.

Seems like it's a real story; Fox news is covering it, along with some other sources.

So, he wasn't killing anyone as a white supremacist, converted to Islam, and started killing? The comment on bombing "his country" is odd, too; is he not American by birth?

More details here. This guy looks seriously crazy in the pic!!

Go with the local sources, anything from Tampa. Its getting some detailed coverage here. Yo can look him and the other gentleman up on our county arrest inquiry page.
Devon Arthurs aka Khalid has 7 capitol felonies, I am fairly certain he is going to death row.

a reply to: Spider879
I am pretty certain he is just simply trying to setup a defense for himself to get his charges/sentencing lowered. The National guardsman worries me though .. why did he have explosive material in his home??? He claims it was for a rocket science project, but prosecutors and law enforcement says the amounts were too exaggerated for what he was claiming.
Brandon Russell was arrested in the keys outside my county, so I cannot pull up booking information for him.

According to the complaint, Russell admitted to being a national socialist, manufacturing the HTMD and owning the precursors. He also admitted he is a member of a white supremacy group called the Atomwaffen, German for "atomic weapons."

Questioned about why he had the explosives, Russell said he was in a USF engineering club in 2013 and used the HMTD, in part, to boost homemade rockets and to send balloons into the atmosphere.

"Based on my training and experience, HMTD is too energetic and volatile for these types of uses," FBI Special Agent Timothy A. Swanson wrote in the complaint.

When are we going to realize that ALL religious beliefs are a form of mental illness.

does this story prove that islam is more violent than white supremacists?

religion succeeded in turning him into a psychopathic killer, where even the neo Nazis failed in turning him into one.

religion has some powerful mojo to brainwash people and warp their minds.

an interesting case study.

We don't know if he killed anyone while he was a white supremacists. This is just the first time he got caught.

If we are using single incidents to classify large goups of people then that's fair right??

single incident?

Maybe look around a bit. there sure are a lot of single incidents. globally.

Pol Pot was actually a buddhist.

He killed over a million during his little revolution.

Prince Norodom Sihanouk was the former king of Cambodia from 1941 as well as Head of State from 1955 to 1970 before resigning in 1976. He once said of Pol Pot:

"Pol Pot does not believe in God but he thinks that heaven, destiny, wants him to guide Cambodia in the way he thinks it the best for Cambodia, that is to say, the worst. Pol Pot is mad, you know, like Hitler."

Killed near a quarter of his population. Now if Buddhism had a penchant to create people like Pol Pot, world wide, and recruited people to mass murder, globally, and it was something you could not criticise, and if there were Buddhist rapg gangs and .. well you see what I'm saying... then we could agree with your notion.

Sadly, there is but one major religion today, still wielding the sword in it's efforts to spread far and wide.

Isn't it odd though, that we're considering islam on par with white supremacists?

does that not tell you something?

He didn't consider Zoroastrianism.. *scratches head*

Show me more examples of Buddhism engaging in acts or terror, with 'lone wolf' converts acting in the name of Buddha and controlling entire nations with fear of death.

That's right, you can't. Nice try though, but no suicide belt.

The fact that this dimwit apparently yelled "Allahu Mohammod" at some point, shows he was a clueless twat. god mohammod? allahu akbar means god is great. this guy is nothing more than a derka derka jihad patsy, yelling random crap.

THIS story seems dubious at best, nothing to do with islam. but it does, I believe highlight how mouth breathers are so easily swayed to something that is in my opinion, dangerous.

i was talking to the fam the other day and mentioned that it would be so much better if we could just point and say "asshole" rather than point and categorize them in other ways ("Muslim", "Conservative", "Southerner", "Protester", etc). On a social level we are less about individuals and more about their associations. Which is not just sad....its illogical and wrong.

There are thousands of years of programming and wiring that humans have to deal with. We aren't made to interact with a "human hive" environment, despite our desires to participate in one. The result can only be conflict, I think.

This person is a good example of why associations are wrong. He was a psycho looking for a home from the very beginning.

I don't know, maybe his claims is valid?? The surviving roommate had some dangerously lethal quantities of explosive material. They may end up reducing his charges if his attorneys can convince the jury his intentions were noble (yea sure) in regards to stopping terrorism. Could even be possible stand your ground could come up in this case. Something along the lines of he felt the safety of the general public was in danger or something and he needed to act.

This is Florida man, weird events have been known to just get weirder.
