Seems to be an increasing trend on the web. I got burned for the first
time ever on the web the other day. And I consider myself a monarch
when it comes to spotting scams. They got me looking for a deal on
Ray Bans. I don't know if the T&C will allow me to post the site url so
I'll wait and see if I can or not? But I think people should be made aware
as these sites willing to rip you off seem to be on the increase.

The web should work like the mafia. The honest ones should hunt
down the ones that burn people and massacre em.

Call it preservation of integrity. Anyway I'm only out 35 bucks but 35 bucks
times how many like me? Could be tons of dishonest revenue. As for
me? I'm back to store bought and the internet has some asian ripoffs
to thank.

Any body else get burned on the web? Lets hear your story and how
would you deal with it?

I get burned all the time Randy. I guess this is the new way of online shopping as everyone leaves the brick and mortar buildings. I do sense a comeback for the old way in 10-20 years if the online retailers don't get it together and soon.

I recently went through hell with Amazon. I had a order for 5 items which i purchased to get free shipping. The next day they crashed my bank account by triple ordering on my account. Kinda like when you see multi post's here on ATS.

Well needless to say I finally got it sorted out with all the overdrafts ect.

If crap like this keeps happening people will stay away from online shopping. I know I will.

I'd rethink purchasing Ray Bans if I were you. While Tom Cuirse looks great in them, most men are just not as handome as he is as Nicole Kidamn I think she'd agree with me.

As for not getting them, mabey its a blessing in disguise?

Last time I bought a pair of raybans they were $200 bucks.

Wire frame rectangular from I think it was the sun glass hut in a mall.

Yes, I donated money to my favorite website because they reached out to the members for some help and pledged something in return that was never delivered.

Sh!t happens, and now I just have a different opinion of those running it. No big deal...

Sorry you got screwed my friend, but just don't pay any tithe for a month or two and you'll make it up in no time.

I don't know why people spend all that money on something they're just gonna sit on and break.

Woof, that's alot for sunglasses. I'd only drop that on Oakleys.

I was in the store trolling to get one of the guys to give me their pitch.... Sure enough I checked out the video on how they test their lenses and I think they're worth it.

Learned my lesson ordering off the web! There are very few sites that actually deliver on what they offer. I'd say at least 75% of online sites give you cheap, bad quality products- even some highly regarded, well known retailers. The products they sell online aren't near the quality of what you buy in their stores. Be careful out there!

You know I'm just tired of the cheap ones getting scratched all the time.
And now I'm driving OTR earning some good money so, time get some
good ones with a neck band. I know it's a lot but my vision is worth it.
I also spend a lot on red wings but only every 5 years.

So wait, you know the true cost of a pair of Ray Bans and thought you could score a pair off the net for $35 and then claim you got "burned?" Sounds like you contributed to the proliferation of fake goods being sold on the net. Come on now, dealing in those grey areas, you have to know you're taking a gamble.

You should look at safety glasses. I'm serious. They have polarized (or not) safety glasses that look like they are 200 dollar sunglasses.
edit on 2017-05-05T21:33:04-05:002201705America/Chicago5 by c2oden because: not 200 hundred

Not all of them. Check out PIP's website. (protective industrial products).
