In this day and age pretty much every site is monitored by any number of intelligence agencies from across the globe. And Facebook is free to censor whoever they want. It's their company. You agreed to their terms. If you don't like it you can leave. If enough people don't like it and leave then that hurts their profits and they're either forced to change their practices or become obsolete. A clear cut example of that whole capitalism/free market thing that conservatives like to go on and on about.

Mostly I think you are right. The new Commununitarianism is public/private partnership and we are free to post a lot of what we want as long as it a) doesn't offend various groups of protected people b)doesn't go against some terms and conditions of said site and c)doesn't incite violence .or is illegal... or wait threats against President Trump don't count because he goes against thr grain of the Establishment

This concept is so incredibly bizarre. It's like shaving a dog then buying it a little fur coat. I mean this guy was already born with the natural tools needed to spend his life happily with a female partner... what a world, man, what a backwards, ridiculous world.

As far as I've been able to tell, a TG (male to female) can't do that, so to call one a mom or mother is disingenuous at best.

You can associate with it all you want if you're a male who wants to be or feels like a female, but the fact of the matter is you aren't one and never have been nor have the parts or feelings of one. The best you can hope for is chemical treatments to make you look like one and physically making your genitalia look like it. Outside of that, a male TG is still a male.

Where is anyone taking away credit for carrying a child to term? Just because a person didn't give birth to a child doesn't change the role they may play in that child's life. A birth giver can be a mom, an adopted parent can be a mom, a single dad can be a mom, and a transgender can be a mom.

Nowhere does this ad say any different.

It's clear who their target market is. They can market to whomever they please. Generally corporations try to market to as large an audience as they can cover but they do sometimes work extra hard to cover new markets.

I will dare stick my neck out and say that when talking about gender identity and sexual orientation is treated with the same respect as speaking about race there will be no need for censorship.

Truthful, constructive and sensitive criticism should always be welcomed on any topic, but ones like this only seem to attract loud foul mouthed trolls.

It is a commercial...none of us like commercials in the first place and we all have a right to say so in my opinion.

Ironically, one of my family's best friends (she passed away recently) was a transgendered lesbian. She was actually one of the very first people in the USA to undergo a male to female gender reassignment surgery.

She was also a decorated Vietnam war hero (when she was a man), she was a strong conservative, and she absolutely separated herself from the progressive trans fad that had propagated from people like Caitlyn Jenner.

I've always thought of her choice to transition and yet remain in relationships with women as a sign that he (she) loved women so much that he wanted to become a woman, as well as be in a loving relationship with a woman.

So I by no means am doubting that there is a legitimate psychological condition known as gender dysphoria, but I do still believe it to be abnormal both physically and psychologically. But then again, doctors used to say the same thing about gays. But then again, homosexuality occurs throughout the animal kingdom, transgender does not.

Why is there this assumption that only trans* people would be interested in an ad featuring a trans* person? People might be attracted to the product because they respect the company's take on the issue and want to support them.

For example, I've bought more Right Guard and Irish Spring in my lifetime than any person should ... does that make me a hunky "straight" guy because that's who advertised it to me?

Suggesting that this ad would only appeal to trans folks is just ... dumb.

Boycotting Ivanka due to her being born related to Trump is absolutely petty.

For this TG to call himself a mom is a slap in the face to actual mom's. The commercial even hashtags it.

A mom implies a woman. I mean I guess screw the kid who grows up thinking it has 2 moms only to find out one was it's dad before becoming a second mom.

Hell...liberal mindset is abortion is fine until the week before term...how the fvck is that ok? So your child isn't a child until a week before term, but as an adult having a child you can switch genders just before your child is born?

I have been around plenty of gay/lesbian/TG folks in Atlanta and had plenty of interaction with children of same sex/TG parents. I can tell you from experience that there is much more confusion with children about this than there is divorce.

Just because a parent suddenly wants to be TG or gay/lesbian, doesn't mean a child will understand. The mindset has to be impressed upon them and learned. It is not natural for a child to have 2 moms or 2 dad's and they will have issues with such because the chances the child has the same feeleings/gene are slim.

What pisses me off is the adults who impress this on children and expect them to understand and cope. It is the adult or parent who should understand and cope, or don't have children.

Nature itself tells children a male and a female are what it takes to have a child.

I understand people wanting to teach it being ok for same sex partners to adopt or be artificially inseminated, but to impress that way of life and culture on a child is wrong. While I get they have rights and whatnot, gay/lesbian/TG is not the norm and 90% of children born will not have the same orientation as a family of this sort.

Simply put...it is not natural. Anyone that disputes this is welcome to point out how it is. Humans were built male and female for a reason.

Ivanka was always a key adviser to Trump. It's just recently that it became official. That is why people were boycotting her company. It was perceived that Trump's politics were more or less an extension of her own. Considering she is apparently the one that pushed for the strike on Syria I'd say this position was justified. So that hardly makes the boycott petty.
