Oh you're paying for the wall alright. Sure sure, you'll supposedly get your money back from Mexico. I mean you'll get it back right?

Republicans don't seem eager to go to the mat to finance President Trump's border wall with Mexico, at least in the stopgap spending bill that must pass by April 28 to avoid a government shutdown. Still, on Tuesday, the White House sent Congress a request for an immediate cut of $18 billion from domestic programs to pay for the wall, The Associated Press reports, citing a Capitol Hill aide who described the unreleased documents.

The requested cuts reportedly include $1.2 billion from National Institutes of Health medical grants, $1.5 billion from community development grants, $500 million from a transportation grant program, $434 million to eliminate a program to encourage community service among senior citizens, and $372 million from heating subsidies for the poor.

Priorities I suppose. This is Trump's signature policy. It'll cost you though. I don't believe for a second that we're getting the money back from Mexico. I don't think even the Trump administration has a plan to get this money back. It's going to cost the American tax payer a fortune and it's going to hit the pockets of middle and lower class people in so many ways. All this for a wall that is highly unlikely to stretch the entire border, and with minimal effect on illegals crossing the border.

On the plus side it'll create jobs, right?

Of course we are not getting the money "back" from Mexico, we are just not giving it to them in the first place. It will be syphoned off of what they are getting kick back wise.

Let's hope he comes to his senses and decides we don't need no stinking wall after all.

Illegal Immigration Down 67%

Ain't holding my breath though.

In any event, we don't need to be spending money on any of that other s# anyway either.

OOH! OOH! Trump should make the wall look just like the Great Wall of China. That would be pretty epic to look at! Taking a walk on it and looking over on the Mexican side to see all the illegal peasants crying about how they can't get accross anymore.

BAHAHAHAAHAAH!!!!! I'm a evil motherfrakker.

So how much is given to refugees?

Lol if hillary had it her way the refugees would have cost

1 billion and closer to 10 billion

www.numbersusa.com...

Maybe this will put thing into a better light?

When the cost of UACs and the benefits given to all refugees and asylees are calculated, experts say the costs would run the tab up to $5-$10 billion each year.
Uac or Unaccompanied Alien Children's Program (UAC)

So a wall and a ban on high terrorist populated countries would save americans 5 billion a year but the liberal media whats you to think a wall which would stop UAC from coming over at 52,000 in 2014 and more refugees is a bad thing because it will cost money lol derp derp derp the wall is bad the muslim ban is racist derp derp derp.

Two 30 foot walls with a 20 foot channel inbetween lol good luck crossing that oh and on the other side are guards with guns and trunks.

How about this if you think it is so easy post a video of yourself scaling a 30 foot wall with barbed wire then lifting up the ladder and placing it on the other side twice.

Best of luck!

lol that's just the down payment... I am sure some contractor has been puckering up to his ass for over two years for such a lucrative never ending build contract.

yea but SuperBusinessman Trump who by his own admission has built half the world, told us during the campaign that the whole wall, completed and delivered would cost between $12-$15B. So now we need $18b in seed money to do what? Draw up the plans? So much for Donald's $12-$15b. So did he lie or did he not know what he was talking about?

We won't even bother going to the 'Mexico will pay for it' gaff. That's so laughable it embarrassing.

Two 30 foot walls with a 20 foot channel x 1,989 miles.

Good luck with that. Happy you're paying for it and I'm not.
A fantastic giant waste of money and resources.

It'll go down as one of the most backward thinking, stupid ideas this Millennia.

Well imagine that???

Who would have thought???

That would be the rest of planet Earth.

We all know that Mexico will not take any part in this nonsensical debacle, nor contribute to it monetarily, and it will indeed be the American tax payer the foots the bill.

Shame really because that money could be so much better spent.

Yea... another $18B on top of the $54b going to defense. That would make a lot of people richer.

Aye like the people Trump answers to i imagine, but then again that was most lightly part of the plan by way of his election in the first place.

Hopefully it does not all end in tears because end of the day its a great nation with great people.

And seeing things like stupids wall being constructed and Muslims being banned from entering into the nation brings a tear to most people eyes considering the ideologies the nation was founded upon.

Or tunnels, think how many have been found, and then consider how many have not or never will be?

I bet even Trump with his limited capacity to understand the most simple of concepts is beginning to see this horrendous idea for what it is, that being impracticable, unimplementable, and down right pricey to say the least.

It is a worthwhile investment. A wall is 10 times more effective than constantly patrolling with aerial drones. The fuel costs of the latter is tremendous.

Synthetic aperture radar and sonar can locate tunnels.

No mate building a space elevator would be a worthwhile investment.

And would indeed make America great again, bring jobs back, create future industries, allow the colonization of low Earth orbit cost effectively and usher in new golden age for not only America but the rest of humanity.

Big walls that can be circumvented by ladders, tunnels, and ropes not so much im afraid.

Plenty of Drones doing the rounds that operate off battery power, combined with solar energy there go the fuel costs, and no need to build 2000 mile long walls.

It did not work for the Chinese cant see how it will work for the US.

As to the Synthetic aperture radar/sonar, you don't think continuously surveying 2000 odd miles of the border maybe somewhat on the pricey side?
