PREMISE: The writers of this episode (and all others) are using the story to outline the process of Meditation and Enlightenment, outlining the hidden secrets behind the metamorphosis of the human body and mind. In essence, all of this episode gives away the practices of Buddhism and Zen without the audience ever knowing what is truly going on. Do you want to know how to activate a mind to genius and expanded talents? Read on to get clues, but make sure you first reference the links provided to two other ATS threads.

The following quotes come from the WIKI outlining the storyline behind Star Wars Rogue One. This thread and OP follows two other threads in relation to one central understanding. If you want to fully investigate this hidden symbolism, reference these other two threads.

1) Mind, Time and Space are all One Thing - Hidden Reality by Dimensions

2) Ancient Masters Reveal the Essence of Enlightenment - Modern ATS Members Decipher

Star Wars Rogue One - Hidden Meaning in Plain Sight

Research scientist Galen Erso and his family are in hiding on the planet Lah'mu when Imperial weapons developer Orson Krennic arrives to press him into completing the Death Star, a space station-based superweapon capable of destroying an entire planet. Galen's wife Lyra is killed in the confrontation while their daughter Jyn escapes and is taken to safety by Rebel extremist Saw Gerrera.

Jyn is the a major key to the plot in this movie. Although this concept is not religious cannon, Jyn represents the 1/3 of angels who remained neutral in the rebellion of Heaven. The Empire represents the Sons of Darkness (Hebrew tradition), while the Rebels represent the Sons of Light (Hebrew Tradition).

Fifteen years later, cargo pilot Bodhi Rook defects from the Empire, smuggling a holographic message from Galen to Gerrera on the desert moon Jedha. Rebel intelligence officer Cassian Andor frees Jyn from an Imperial labor camp at Wobani before bringing her to the Rebel leaders, who convince her to find and rescue Galen so the Alliance can learn more about the Death Star. Unbeknownst to Jyn, Cassian is covertly ordered by General Draven, an Alliance military officer, to kill Galen rather than extract him.

In Buddhism, the BodhiDharma is the messenger of Enlightenment from India to China. The famous question is this: Why did Bodhidharma travel west? The answer to the Zen Koan is revealed in this thread: 2) Ancient Masters Reveal the Essence of Enlightenment - Modern ATS Members Decipher. The 'holographic' message is then outlined by the thread #1 above as the essence of dimensional mind (like the Matrix of Descartes). The hologram message is needed to activate the base of the tower (Spine) to engage the communication tower at the end of the movie. This tower represents the activation of the message (Bodhi) to the head for transmission through the gate. In Zen, this is the Dharma Gate.

"At this the Buddha said, “I possess the Treasury of the True Dharma Eye, the ineffable mind of nirvana, the true form of the formless, the subtle Dharma gate. It does not depend on words or letters and is a special transmission outside the teachings. This I entrust to Mahākāśyapa.”

Jyn, Cassian, and reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2SO travel to Jedha, where the Empire is mining kyber crystals to power the Death Star while Gerrera and his partisans are engaged in an armed insurgency against them. With the aid of blind spiritual warrior Chirrut Îmwe and his mercenary friend Baze Malbus, Jyn makes contact with Gerrera, who has been holding Rook captive. Gerrera shows her the message, in which Galen reveals he has secretly built a vulnerability into the Death Star and directs them to retrieve the schematics from a high-security Imperial data bank on the planet Scarif.

The Droid represents an Archon of the Gnostics that has been reprogrammed with self-determination. Kyber Crystals are again a Gnostic reference to the essence Sophia gave mankind (the light) in the form of Epinoia. See the quote below. Also reference link #1 above. the vulnerability is the tear in the veil of reality, allowing a person to slip beyond this Buddha Body between the waking and sleep state. Go back to link 2 to see how the mind is activated to overcome death, entering into the absolute mind of God. Death is defeated when we overcome the self below.

And, in fact, like sophia (wisdom), the words ennoia and epinoia, frequently used by gnostics and meaning “thought” or “idea,” are feminine. […] The gnostic sees the world in pairs, all of them derived from a dualist principle: nous (mind, spirit) and epinoia or ennoia (thought).

Jyn proposes a plan to steal the Death Star schematics using the Rebel fleet but fails to get approval from the Alliance Council. Frustrated at their inaction, Jyn's group is supported by a small squad of Rebel volunteers intent on raiding the databank themselves. Arriving at Scarif via the stolen Imperial ship, which Rook dubs "Rogue One", a disguised Jyn and Cassian enter the base with K-2SO while volunteers attack the resident Imperial garrison as a distraction. The Rebel fleet learns about the raid from intercepted Imperial communications and deploy in support. K-2SO sacrifices himself so Jyn and Cassian can retrieve the data. Îmwe is killed after activating the master switch to allow communication with the Rebel fleet. Rook is killed by a grenade just after informing the Rebel fleet that it must deactivate the shield surrounding the planet to allow the transmission of the schematics. Malbus dies in battle shortly after. Jyn and Cassian seize the schematics, but they are ambushed by Krennic, who shoots Cassian.

Imwe is the blind master who uses wisdom and the force to face his enemies, engaging the communication tower. It is the Sage of Wisdom who activates the master switch at the base of the tower (lower Chakra). Once the lower chakra is activated, they still have trouble. The antenna (symbolism for the head of the one in meditation) is tilted. Once Jyn aligns the head and the Dharma Gate is open, the Transmission of the message is then extended to the Alliance. Death is defeated. Note that both Jyn and Cassian do not make it at the end, even though the message is transmitted. This is symbolic of the lower nature of the person dying, while the higher nature is safe. This is the relative nature of life compared to the absolute family in Heaven.

Cassian means Saint. In the end, it took the efforts of all the aspects of the body to complete the task. Each character represents a part of the human person. The communication tower is the spine of 33 vertebrate. The base communication center is the lower Chakra. The antenna is the perfectly aligned head of the person. The Gate is the Dharma Gate. In Zen tradition, the 31st degree is the Buddha transmitting the Dharma to his Mother. 32 is the Bodhisattva returning to end the suffering of the people. 33 is the Nobel Voice gained when the Assembly is brought back to safety. This is the Hero's Journey, outlined by Joseph Campbell.

Who is the ultimate Bodhisattva and transmitter of the Dharma? Christ Returning.

One last little bit. Pay attention to the name of the messenger: Bodhi Rook.

In chess, a room is a tower.

This is a dead giveaway that Star Wars is itself a Zen Koan revealing other Zen Koans. People like Joseph Campbell are the influence of George Lucas and the Star Wars Franchise. If you know the work of Joseph Campbell, you know the rest of the story.

This kind of thing is a part of many popular franchises, they use symbolism to subliminally attract people and make them fans of the story they wrote.

This is why franchises such as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings (to only name a few) are so popular, it's because people subconsciously connect to these hidden truths within the story without ever even knowing what lies underneath the surface. Same thing goes for religion, people connect to the hidden meaning beneath the surface without ever actually fully realizing what the metaphors represent in my opinion.

Uhmmm, what religious book was LOTR series taken from or influenced by, cant just say stuff and expect it to be accepted.
How about a brief theory
Hidden truths, what?

As for Star Wars, its been New/Old Agey since its inception, just trimming the fat and making it easier to see and understand

Jyn and Cassian do not make it at the end

She's still got a contract for a sequel

www.history.com...

some films do have hidden messages
but a lot of the time
it just someone's stories

you can find depth in a empty glass if you look long enough

In this case, naming the messenger Bodhi, the comMUNIcation tower base, the antenna, the gate and the blind Monk with his protector are 1000% Zen and Buddhism Koans. I can understand not knowing this if Koans are a new concept for many here.

Tolkien created his own personal flavor using the same base ingredients as other popular myths and stories. I can't show it to you unless you know what to look for but it is definitely there. If I tried to explain it it would take a huge block of text that no one would want to read.

Try THIS for starters.

I can understand not knowing this of Koans

The monk himself in his seeking is the koan. Realization of this is the insight; the response to the koan [...] Subject and object - this is two hands clapping. When the monk realizes that the koan is not merely an object of consciousness but is also he himself as the activity of seeking an answer to the koan, then subject and object are no longer separate and distinct [...] This is one hand clapping.[53]

was it really about knowing an answer ?
or you ?

There's also the Silmarillion, the Alchemist and the list goes on. One theme in the Bible sourced from one common thread out East. The Babelling of Sanskrit.

Well, Lucas did say that he based Star Wars off Eastern Religions.

Whereas, Tolkien based Hobbitt & LoTR off Celtic and Skandinavian traditions (and his love for languages).

All of it, even the Bible, is based on the perennial philosophy of overcoming self. A higher self is set aside once we each find the one law outlined in the Dhammapada chapter one.
