As a 4chan goer (to the clean...and believe me there are clean and safe areas) I have most certainly been to /b/ and /x/ before

/x/ is the paranormal area. /b/ is a place of unholy ground where you can see things that will either make you wish you never saw them...or desensitize you to everything...

One of the common troll attempts in /b/ is to do the following

anon posts a picture...some random, stupid, nothing type picture. In the text block he posts, "everyone respond to this picture as if it is the most horrifying thing you've ever seen. I will delete it in 5 minutes"

several anons then post massive reactions like "holy (blank)! I cannot believe that! I saw it and vomited everywhere! Where did you get that"

original anon then deletes the picture and unknowing folks come by and think they missed out on the worst thing ever...troll complete

Now I am not saying this IS the specifics...but if it was posted on that image board, it is very very very likely this is a massive troll effort...and the "janitors" and mods are sick of hit or have some personal hatred of this specific troll attempt and are wiping them out at ridiculous speeds

Add to that the nerfing of the bandwidth due to lack of money by the new owner which has already caused slowdowns...and a huge influx of trolls may have crashed the already slow site

Since this is the thing /b/ traffics in day in and day out...I would not be remotely surprised if this was all them

Now I will go hang my head in shame and return to the clean world

It looks as if there was a massive Cloudflare loss of service not long after that. So if I am still going by the possible troll attempt, and it MAY be coincidence in timing, there could have been a DDoS by trolls at 4chan or their enemies such as Reddit...their wars flare up once in a while. So it could have been timing, according to the sources which I cannot post from work, but can hook up when I get home, the Cloudflare losses were very widespread and went much further than 4chan

So it is possible this hoax started and the trolls received an ultimate prize by getting a coincidental Cloudflare service drop to make it look more legit...or they may have DDoS themselves to increase legitimacy

you missed the part where 4chan continued to remove and censor threads and posts multiple times as it evolved, thread's that had run hours ended up 404d, many posters here saw it themselves, myself included, long after this thread here had begun.

I think we learn something important
Perhaps this was a social experiment to see how people would react to a censured picture of great interest.
The results would show that people would begin to fabricate their own truth and spin a web of stories that explain the unknown.

So in the end we end up killing the original story, mixing up facts and lies..
The believer is the greatest debunker

I've followed this thread simce the beginning, that pic has been debunkerd before, it's a composition, the background turns up online without the alien in it...

again, not it, that's the same one that SoulsAreJustData posted za few posts before you. I never saw the original ijage but this has been debunked.

as mentioned several times throughout this thread, you can't follow links to 4chan, you have to cut/copy and paste the address into your browser...

Oh my f**k, I think I have the original, people assumed that the dtories of people feeling sick at viewing the original image was just old wives tales but let me tell you, this pic churns my stomach, I very nearly lost my tea...
