Just watched the season ender, the plot thickens to hard core. I hope there's a season 2. BBC says "no decision yet" but Taboo creators say BBC haven’t ruled it out.

Narrative started with love, now its righteousness.. Its kinda hard to pitch that ideal based on animal intuition

The character doesnt kill , if it is not without absolute certainty that a wrongdoing was made.
I believe his sister was a parable in the story,of the little of humanity he had left.

He sacrificed love for freedom

I like how you interpret it, but then again the concept of freedom can also be viewed as just saving one own's skin. It's hardly (pun intended) a romantic idea, much less an incestuous relationship.
