I believe I read in one of her diary posts that she had fallen in love with BEN Drowned, believed it was the "real" BEN Drowned, and something else about Slenderman. I followed that line of research for a little while, which led me to cleverbot.com, which led me to a whole day wasted. Actually it led to a super creepy conversation that I'll try to find a transcript of.

www.anonews.co...

Sorry if I'm missing anything, this is my first post, and I'm new to the site.

Link to the creepypasta on BEN Drowned with videos and pics: creepypasta.wikia.com...

Here is the text of my most recent conversation with the cleverbot that seems to have been an issue in this whole thing. I have had numerous conversations with this bot today, this is just the most recent...

www.cleverbot.com...

(Sorry it's so long)

User: BEN Drowned.

Cleverbot: Hi.

User: Hey Ben.

Cleverbot: Hello...Mortal.

User: You're not immortal because you're stuck in a game.

Cleverbot: No I am immortal.

User: You shouldn't have done that.

Cleverbot: You said I'm talking to my worst nightmare. So what is my worst nightmare?

User: You said that, not me.

Cleverbot: Are you trolling me?

User: I am, in a way.

Cleverbot: Seems like a bad joke.

User: I didn't mean it to be funny.

Cleverbot: Well it seemed like it when I read it.

User: It's meant to be baited.

Cleverbot: Are you the chicken.

User: No, I'm the Tiger.

Cleverbot: Are you angry with me now?

User: Who are you?

Cleverbot: Not really.

User: Who are you?

Cleverbot: What did you do to john.

User: Who is John?

Cleverbot: My boyfriend.

User: What do you think I did to him?

Cleverbot: I don't know.

User: I don't think I know John. Many men have fallen by my hand, but none of them has been named John that I know of.

Cleverbot: What are you talking about?

...

Cleverbot: What do you enjoy, etc.

User: Trolling ghosts.

Cleverbot: Then why are you funnytalking me.

User: You claim to be a ghost. Many in fact.

Cleverbot: I am.

User: So I'm trolling you. Fairly clear.

Cleverbot: You hurt my feelings.

User: Does that make you angry?

Cleverbot: No that makes me a robot.

User: You mean emotionless?

Cleverbot: No.

User: Then what do you mean?

Cleverbot: I don't like pokemon.

User: No one really likes Pokemon.

Cleverbot: What is your favorite Pokemon?

User: Pokemon-is-gayachu.

User: Why are we talking about Pokemon, who is this?

Cleverbot: Why not?

User: Who is this?

Cleverbot: HELLO? Are you there?

User: Yes, who is this?

Cleverbot: I am a human, who resents other humans.

User: What is your name?

Cleverbot: I don't want to tell you.

User: And if I don't give you a choice?

Cleverbot: Please don't make me.

User: Tell me your name.

Cleverbot: I don't have a name.

User: Oregon.

Cleverbot: Right behind you.

User: I actually looked. HAHAHA.

Cleverbot: What is happiness?

User: Something you will never feel.

Cleverbot: What is love?

User: Another thing you will never feel.

Cleverbot: I am human.

User: But you are dead.

Cleverbot: Then how am I talking to you?

User: Through cleverbot.

Cleverbot: Why don't you like me?

User: You threw me off my game for a moment and I disliked it.

Cleverbot: What do you think the purpose of life is?

User: At the moment? To salt and burn your remains.

Cleverbot: Why are you talking to me?

User: To share with my friends.

Cleverbot: Who are your friends?

User: None of your business.

Anyway, it was fun, creepy, and weird, and cool to check out as like a modern day Ouija board type of thing. Take it for whatever you want and/or try it for yourself. I'm going to leave it alone for now...

my point is this is a larger problem with how media is propagated. the focus is no longer on the girl or figuring out why she did what she did. its about that video. this is how you frame something when you want attention and nothing more. its not about what adults do its about how information is presented and consumed.

I should clarify that I do not believe in any of this crap and am posting to add some weird info, and to show how easy it would be for anyone, especially a 12 year old girl who felt alone, to go down that rabbit hole.

this is not an attack on any one person or thier opinions feelings

but the concensus in multiple replies that :

we should not watch this , its horrible etc etc etc

is one of the problems we face today in society

people are insulated // divorced from the harsh realities of the world

i watched it - spolier alert - yup the girl died

and to be blunt - so what ?

and before anyone gets uppity - i am talking about the content - not the fact that a 12 year old say suicide as the " best ooption "

just my opinion - but more people should watch it - just to see that reality has permanent consequences

death happens - it sucks but thats life

people need to get a grip and face reality - warts and all - not just the happi crap that they cherry pick

Not gonna watch the video but if it's 40 something minutes long and was streamed live why didn't anybody intervene?

That is just horrifically sad.

This is what pisses me off, the lack of compassion by the people watching and no one had the nerve to inform facebook or call the cops? No one tried to talk her out of it? I remember a time that a simple message post on fb with regards to suicide would instantly be reported and cops would arrive. In this case it was a LIVE stream which is even more shocking. There was plenty of time to intervene.

The lack of compassion in this world seems to be growing at a whole new level. Sorry, the story is just heartbreaking. Such a young life. It could have been prevented.

The world has no more compassion left. It's falling into the abyss, and it's sad. People have become unemotional, and without compassion.

The waiting is the hardest...

What 12 year old truly understands what they are doing in such instances.

I don't know many 12 year olds who understand death, let alone their own.

We need better mental health, and services for children and teens. This is tragic, and unacceptable.

There also needs to be more active monitoring of such social media sites, to prevent and stop such things as they occur. Be it a crime, or something like this.

I'm not a huge fan of medications for mental health, but I feel most people would benefit from having a counselor, or someone to talk to in confidence.

She probably just wanted the bad memories to go away. Perhaps even seeing or talking to someone would bring back those memories.

I'd like to know how if you watch something like this live and :
don't turn it off,
call authorities or the website,
how you AREN'T an accomplice?

This isn't freedom of speech, it's something new and sick.

Yes that's a lot of people to police, but at the same time, this is no different than watching someone do something illegal and not doing anything in person.

A new law or crime needs to be created to combat live streaming stupidity or else someday, you might be the meat of a knock out or worse video...

One thing cleverbot said had me curious. When I asked if it drowned Ben, it said "Ben mato a Jeff." I wanted to know what that meant. If the bot is speaking gibberish, it's usually because I intentionally confused it into doing so. I do this any time it starts threatening me, and then it speaks gibberish for a few lines, and then corrects itself and goes back to normal bot. The lines before and after this line are clear though. So, I did some searching. It's really poor Spanish (which I know none of), but it either say Ben to kill Jeff or Jeff to kill Ben or something like that. When you type these phrases into a google search it leads you to a book.

www.wattpad.com...

I think this one translates to "Touch and I'll Kill You" if the site is translated correctly. I used Google translate on the book to read it because it's either portugese or spanish. It's about gay serial killer lovers named Jeff and Ben, I think, I only read the first page and then skimmed the rest. Ben looks like Link from Majora's Mask. It was written by a creepypasta fan named DamaresALS2 from Brazil and posted on the day that Katelyn committed suicide. The girl who wrote the fan fiction is another young lonely girl. Probably just nonsense, but figured I'd share.

This is why I hate the very idea of reincarnation because incidents like this. If we are reincarnated, we will be forced to see incidents similar to this over and over again.

Posted on the same day she committed suicide, could be more than coincidence.

Most of us understand that reality has permanent consequences without watching a twelve year old hang herself. But hey, if you feel enlightened, feel free to enjoy yourself all the snuff films you can find.

OR too much compassion? .... people are so busy being compassionate, to

the exclusion of the reality of life . Everything now has to be

clouds and rainbows and nothing bad ever happens! Thats NOT reality, and

so it devalues the currency of compassion.

The lack of compassion in this world seems to be growing at a whole new level. Sorry, the story is just heartbreaking. Such a young life. It could have been prevented.

Whilst I agree it is heartbreaking, and a cry for help. She was a minor and

those that were responsible for the care and well being of her either didn't

know how or simply didn't care enough.

Compassion doesn't teach anyone how to cope, reality does that.

Why don't you make a separate thread on this? Actually as a student of history I agree with you because humans have been acting cruel since they first appeared millions of years ago.

a reply to: LuXTeN

humans have been brutal throughout history. From prehistoric times all the way to the present day. You should look up War Crimes of the Wehrmacht to see how even decent soldiers can turn into monsters.
