Seeking ATS Members Thoughts -- If a UFO Arrives - But Does Not Communicate.

It would be quickly handed over to scientists to figure it out. Area would be evacuated and research stations would be set up. There first goal would be to try to figure out how its staying there so a lot of atmospheric testing would occur most likely drones. At the same time of course contact would want to be established so equipment monitoring the full spectrum would be on the scene. If contact couldn't be made next step would be to get a drone into the ship. Probably involving a cutting torch unless an entry point could be determined. Meanwhile the US military would have some very serious firepower near by because generals are paranoid its part of there job. So how it would play out depends on what they find I could see them even landing people on it eventually if the drones proves unsuccessful. And that's the part where the sci fi thriller would get interesting. Shooting it down however will be suggested but than the realization hits what happens if this thing explodes? Scientists will say we don't know what powers it what if its anti matter make a nuclear explosion look like a fire cracker. And when they realize it culd in theory take out say Massachusetts they wouldn't risk it.

Well if we are threat to them they wouldn't be so cocky just by floating their in public and mass media of just one craft. They would just come out of no where an strategically cripple us with out much chance of retaliation if they wanted resources.

Nuking it would or could not knock it down, and probably cause more damage us then them. Not mention if they could remotely hack electronics, probably knocking more eletronic and/or send it back to sender, or if they really didn't like us use bio weapons for generations of suffering to sucker punching us with an asteroid to send us to the next dimension peacefully .
