As a American Voter I am seriously afraid. The Left will start a Civil War in this Country if they get there way. All these so called Celebrities (who thinks there vote counts anymore then mine or yours does)begging the EC to be "Heros" and vote against Trump. Will start a Civil War. Maybe not to the extent of Syria but a Civil War.

Fearporn or fake news. Pick your poison.

At the end of the day it's boils down to more Dems crying about what Reps are going to do.

Look at who the electors that are crying the loudest are and what state they are in.

So far, Trump looks like a winner to me.

He isn't even in office and he is working hard saving jobs and making positive changes and impacts in the business world. I hope the electorate sees what a great potential President he is and vote as they should..for the people they represent.

Definitely doom porn.

An organized civil war would be impossible in the current state of the union.

Riots and outbreaks of dissenters yes, which would be quickly squashed.

The only thing that would come out of it is more authoritarian laws, and loss of more freedoms.

I like to think the non militant civil war has already been fought and won by ballot in trumps election.

So if not all states are bound to vote in alignment with their population, what do we vote for exactly? What's the point, if it can be so easily overturned?

Am I the only one who sees this as an insult?

I understand we're a constitutional Republic, and not a true Democracy, but what do our votes actually count for???

No it wouldn't. 38 would, but 37 would lead to Congress will pick Trump I presume. Though the Congress deciding may spark unrest from the left.

I'm confused. If the electoral college change their votes, which is perfectly legal to do, the minority of people who voted for Trump will start a civil war? Why?

Because they like something when it favors them, then hate it when it doesn't do what they want?

EDIT: Are you saying the left will start one if Trump is elected? Or if he is not elected? The link you posted doesn't give a reason why the left would instigate a civil war.

This is a road that leads to nowhere.
People talk alot of bravado from the comfort of there Living rooms. I wonder..
No , I mean really wonder, what is the factor in development that makes one brain say "I disagree, let's work it out." And another say"I disagree let's engage in the horrors of war"

It's not gonna be like call of duty or fall out.
You don't respawn with full ammo.....

blah, blah, blah, no it wouldn't be call of duty or fall out. if and that's a big if, the left was to organize a armed revolt. in the first fire fight or any of the engagements there after the left would lose over 80 % of their forces, because 80% or more are mamby pamby's, that lack the intestinal fortitude to stand and fight for their cause when the sh@@ gets deep.

The Left isn't starting a Civil War. In fact, whenever I read or hear about a Civil War the source is always a right winger. That said, from what I've gathered so far it will take Republican electors who decide not to vote for Trump to make an impact and if that happens do you really think they're gonna hand over the White House to Clinton? The answer is no, they won't. They'll hand it over to another Republican.

Clinton is done and she's not gonna be president, ever.

And btw, did you even bother to read the link you posted? Because it sure looks like you did not and immediately jumped to insane conclusions of the Left starting a Civil War. How ignorant of you.

Could the "Hamilton electors," a group of electors who have sworn not to vote for Trump, be this solution? Sadly, they cannot. While their goal is to elect a moderate Republican candidate, so far all seven of them come from states Clinton won. Their votes therefore only amount to symbolic protests, and just ask Jill Stein how useful those are.

You're missing the point. The war was fought and won, without a single shot fired.
I think that's a good thing...

The people who would riot in the wake of the victory does not a civil war make.

At best they would and should be labeled as domestic terrorists.

Civil nonviolent protests no matter how silly should always be a right though.

Has anyone checked to see if these so-called electors are the ones that would have to vote for Clinton , anyway ? That would be a start
I see a lot of crap about "sources" "they say"

It's not about what's legal for most people, its about what feels right, what feels just. There would be zero point to vote for prez in the future. It would expose what people believe already, its rigged for the elites.

The stamp act was legal as well. Yet it struck a cord with every colonist, poor, rich, lawyer, farmer, a bunch of elites were trying to run their lives and they werent being represented.

You need 38 trump voters to defect amd join all the Hillary voters with a unification Republican candidate. Dems would take any real Republican over trump.

If I were a democrate elector I'd team up with 38+ Republicans to go with John kasich or McCain.

This won't see Hillary as president. But a competent Republican? Maybe.

Oh this could become fun!!! All those snowflakes know something about is how to tweet and weep - but not how to shoot and scoot. So, if this comes to a civil war - as those DNC kids seem to WANT - it will be nothing but a staggeringly short one, where fairies and unicorns fly to ocean and snowflakes will melt in Mexico.

You are confused indeed.

A minority voted for Hilllary. (Less than 50%)

The majority did not vote for Hillary. (More than 50%)

And of course the popular vote is irrelevant.

Trump won the electoral votes in a majority landslide. (More than 50)

As much as I love the tweet and weep comment, there will be nothing "fun" about it if some peoples sick fantasy were to come true.

The fact is Mr. Trump won. He is going to be sworn in. There is not going to be a civil war. And any bleating from the far left will not change that.

His attitude is infectious. It seems to motivate the right people.
