I know this is unpopular but...

We have way too much news with way too many outlets.

There is no way to have 24 hour, 7 days a week news.

After awhile they lie and exaggerate the news.

I don't have an answer to fix the imbalance.

Let the market decide. Easy.
"Truth", all through history, is what is recorded and written not necessarily what actually happened. I am not sure why we think we're ever going to change that.
The only difference now is that some media outlets and areas of popular culture that have created our reality are being rejected and some people don't like it - hence the 'fake news' whining.

Making lists has always been very helpful to the government.
Just ask the Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Joe McCarthy.

it exposes the Pathological liars.

Why repost that list today, it's been pulled already, that means wasting people's time, notwithstanding that your original post centered on ATS making the grade as a fake news site as per your then link, of which ATS is now off that list amongst others.
ATS may or may not have false news propagators in their midst, that does not make ATS et al a source of 'fake news'

ATS is right near the top of the list.

That's because it is in an alphabet sequence. It's not the source I was referring to anyway, though I don't disagree entirely with the confined graphic analysis around the election aspect which totally fecked up any objectivity of ATS being a decent site to browse, simply because certain individual/s were given far too much licence to post ridiculously fake posts in number, akin to propaganda. I see no immediate resolution of that, I do see it though as an embarrasment for ATS. That's just my opinion.

I purposefully left out Fox, CNN, MSNBC, WND, DC, The Hill, WaPo, Washington Times, etc. They're all getting plenty of attention.

Is Washington Times still owned by the Moonies?

Many of our younger members might not remember Reverand Moon...

Lately, I'd tend to agree.
On one side are the Trumpketeers, and on the other, everyone else.
Luckily, a few brave souls still make posts about secret space programs and conspiracies to keep me checking the site every other hour.

You forgot Raw Story and Next Level Bullish!t.

Personally, I don't think this push against fake news has anything to do with authenticity... and everything to do with anonymity.

We have everyone else and then we have people who will believe the MSM(the russians are coming) conspiracy yet are mentally incapable of reading wikileaks.

How someone can believe the Russians hacked the election yet dismiss the fact that tons of non-citizens voted which is backed up by multiple studies where 14% of non-citizens admit to being registered to vote.
They also dismiss HRC was bankrolled in large part by the saudis, a bastion of progressivism.

You can safely assume you've created the truth in your own image when it turns out the news sources you trust all hate the same people you do.

I can't believe ATS is drinking this kool-aid, It's so toxic it's not even funny. And the list so loaded with confirmation bias as to be shameful. And doesn't ATS call bull# on topics/sites, individually, as it comes up in threads? It's so #ing Orwellian to be compiling a hit list of sites some random internet persona deems "fake news". When, really, we should be questioning the very existence of the hot-button, politically-charged term "fake news" and trying to find out which spook or alphabet organization is trying to pit us against each other and question the very existence of alt media. Way to get it wrong.
