Do you understand what this program is? It's for people who come on temp visas. It was a program that was used until Obama suspended it. Out of 48,000 visas while the program was in practice, it caught 13,000 who were overstaying their visa. This is why the program in question is on the table again.

What it entails is that those wanting temporary visas or refugee status be put on a list where immigration workers visit with them to interview them from time to time. It used to be common practice.

It is being spun into some onerous, nefarious registry, but it really used to be a standard part of the immigration process for certain visa holders.

Wasn't there a photograph taken of proposed plans for the registry that showed one of the main purposes which was vetting Muslims to find out if they believe in Sharia law? Seems like they have a lot more on their mind than you're suggesting here.

A temporary visa is a temporary visa.

If they apply for permanent status and the interviews or other interim interactions have exposed who and what they are, they don't have to be granted permanent status. The host country is under no obligation to do that, and since the program was designed partially to keep tabs on temporary visa holders ... we haven't lost them so they can't just "disappear" and overstay their welcome.

Answer this: Why should we take pains to bring in people who believe in Shari'a as permanent residents? It is antithetical to American Constitutional jurisprudence.
