Anyone else not Givingthanks today?

Yo. So I'm just at home chillin'. No plans today. No big dinners or family. I actually volunteered to work but the company gave everyone the day off (the jerks!)

Sure I have plenty to give thanks for, but also plenty to raise hell about! Today, I'll do neither.

No I'm not drinking, and I'm not brooding. Thanksgiving was never really a big thing for me, nor was it really a family dynamic where I come from.

Anybody else just enjoying the quiet of other peoples' holiday?

I'm here, I'm listening--feel free to stop by and tell me what you're up to, what's on your mind. Whatever.

Canadian, so I'm not currently thanksgiving.

We don't do Thanksgiving here in the U.K, but we have somehow embraced it's vile by product, "Black Friday'.

If you treat it as just an ordinary day, that's entirely your right to do so.

Unfortunately the consumerisme pushers have killed the real meaning.

I feel sry for all of you because you cant enjoy this stuffing right out of the bird and then some pumpkin pie.

I opted out today, not into big food events. My family centers it around alcohol,not turkey. I've been sober 8 years and have no interest in watching people drink. Going to a AA meeting tonight, I'm comfortable there with the other freaks!

I guess I didn't cover all my bases by thinking about the non-American members who naturally wouldn't be celebrating today.

The only Thanksgiving messages I got today were from stores sending me spam emails hahah

I'm sure they're all quite thankful for my credit card debts!

By the time the stuffing gets hot enough the turkey is over cooked...

Not really. Spent most of the day in the emergency room with the wife.
Found out she broke her pelvis 6 months ago.
Not thankful for all the doctors & hospitals that couldn't find anything wrong - until today.
She's just going to have to put up with the pain. sux.
