But the thing is that Trump promised he was different, and with respect, you do not have to be the second coming of Jesus to be aware of the social situation in a country whose media are literally ejaculating hype and spin in every direction over the activity in the streets, and Trump, if he is half the man he has claimed, should, absolutely damned well should have known that Obama was going to let this go to crap, leave him with a sticky seat to fill, and have been prepared to do something about it before taking office, as I said, with an address or two a week if necessary, letting people know he is not a monster, that he loves his people, that he is there for them, whether they cannot work because they are disabled, or flying high in personal jets, whether they are from a line of immigrants or from settler stock from the old days, whether they are gay as you like, or straight as can be, because that is what people need. They need to know their leaders love and respect their countrymen. All of em. They need to know that they are going to be treated fairly by their leaders. They need to know that no matter what social demographic they fit into, they are important to their leader, and that their views will help inform his time in office, and the things he will do while there.

They do not need more of the same old crap. They need better. Either he is going to give it, or he is not. He needs to figure it out, pronto, otherwise he loses the people before his arse hits the chair behind the desk in the Oval Office.

It's a no win situation for him imo.....

If he does as you suggest and makes multiple statements per week trying to reassure all those that see him as the personification of evil, they are likely to call him a liar, bigot, racist, sexist, etc. etc. even more emphatically.

If he does not make any statements and hope that it will calm down with time then they will say it only proves that he doesn't give 2 flips about their concerns......

it's no win and no matter what he does he is unlikely to persuade them and we can only hope that when/if he starts to make things better that they will come around......assuming that they don't tear the country apart first.....rioting and protesting won't solve a damn thing

I used to think that a sexual predator was a heavy title, like a sex offender x 1000. proper malicious rapist or something. come to find out it simply means some dude with star power leaning in for a kiss before asking, and also recognizing people get star struck and will let you move on them without any issues.

One of the reasons the college rape statistics (1 in 5) look so bad, is because the people taking the surveys have broadened the definition of sexual assault to include "unwanted hugs".

Trump pretty much confessed to sexually assaulting a woman. Maybe he was lying... maybe it was all male bravado... maybe he took that extra step from saying "I want to..." to "I did..." It may also be (as indicated by women involved) that they had given him implicit and/or explicit reason to think such, um, gestures would be welcome. I do know that many of the worst allegations remain unsubstantiated at best, and proven false at worst. I also know that all the allegations I've seen are decades old. And I know that I don't know the whole truth and I'm willing to reserve judgment for now. But it is very disturbing to me.

Nevertheless, Trump is our president now, I will give him a chance to prove himself, and give credit where (if) credit is due, unless and until I have reason to do otherwise. And I give him a big fat thumbs up for speaking out about the violence and hate crimes. That's not just what a leader should do, that's what a leader does.

How about you step up to the plate. I think it's time to wash the media # off of everyone. Post the exact quote in question and let's have a look at it. We already know what you are supposed to think based on the media's take on it. And you seem quite into the idea of giving peace a try. So let's get this fixed. Either he said he did sexual things to women they didn't want, or he didn't. And truthfully, he said a lot of stupid things so it's entirely possible. But from what I know I have heard, that wasn't what was said at all.

There is no comparison. I do not say what I say because I am seeking approval. I do not support you folks in your upholding of your second amendment because it gets me props from the membership.
