Planes and ships of Admiral Kuznetsov carrier group will presumably use high precision weapons, most likely "Kalibr" cruise missiles.
This is breaking on Russian MSM right now.

The main goal is to crush terrorist reinforcements that are advancing to Aleppo. This attack is expected to happen in the coming hours.

Here is a link in Russian (I will post a link in English when I find one):

A source within Russia's Ministry of Defense told Gazeta.ru that the Navy's aircraft carrier group is ready to launch a strike targeting Daesh terrorists in the province of Aleppo in the next 24 hours. The attack, which will likely engage Kalibr cruise missiles, will target militants outside of Aleppo, and not the residential areas. Read more: sputniknews.com...

Great...just enough time for them to leave what ever area they terrorists are hiding in...Guess Putin took a page out of the Dick Cheney "Shock and Awe" campaign...or when we announced during Desert Storm that we were going to invade Iraq...waited a month and then invaded them..

All the progress Obama made there and now we have the Russians helping stop these evil terrorists.

WIN WIN.

Now all the refugees can go back home. I say we give them all free vacuum cleaners. Probably a little dusty in their homes.

Read a similar story but that they should be ready to go later this evening . Time framing this around the globe might mean yesterday somewhere lol .

If Killary is elected, look for a massive Russian push to finish off the Syrian rebel position before she takes office. Depends on this election. Syrian public alert. Hunker down folks. The next few months could be a real killer.

One of the MiG-29Ks on the Kuznetsov has crashed. Pilot has been recovered.

Russian Mig-29 fighter jet crashes in Mediterranean A Russian Mig-29 fighter jet has crashed into the Mediterranean Sea as it tried to land on the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, the country's defence ministry has said. The pilot ejected safely from the plane, the ministry said.

The defence ministry said the crash was as a result of "technical malfunction" during a training flight. The jet came down a few kilometres from the carrier and the pilot was picked up by a rescue team. "The pilot's health is not in danger," the ministry said, adding that he was ready to fly again. It said that flight operations had not been suspended.

This is probably the green light for US ISIS sleeper cells to hit back at America for abandoning their ISIS comrades in Syria.

Now its time to watch how rapidly violence spirals out of control in USA. Obama wants Marshal Law. This is his last opportunity to stay in power.

The Russian military has launched a large-scale operation against terrorists stationed in Homs and Idlib provinces of Syria, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.

"Today at 10:30 and 11:00 we launched a large-scale operation against the positions of Islamic State and Al-Nusra [terrorist groups] in the provinces of Idlib and Homs," Shoigu said at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the top leadership of the Russian Armed Forces. The 'Admiral Kuznetsov' aircraft carrier, the flagship of the Russian Navy, is also taking part, Shoigu said. This is the first time the 'Admiral Kuznetsov' has taken part in a military operation. Sukhoi Su-33 fighter jets have been launched from the deck of the carrier, the defense minister said.

Terrorist positions have been hit with cruise missiles from the frigate ‘Admiral Grigorovich’, Shoigu added.

Boy doggie have they! I've been following the Syrian civil war for a while now on syria.liveuamap.com , and the place is really lit up today! Aleppo in particular is getting pounded, far worse than any recent activity I can remember.

He was the third aircraft of three returning to the ship. The second aircraft broke one of the cables and caught a reserve cable. The incident aircraft returned to the pattern, and while orbiting suffered a complete shutdown of both engines.

Su-33 lost off Admiral Kuznetsov. Pilot ejected successfully.

A Russian Sukhoi-33 fighter jet has crashed in the Mediterranean while landing on its carrier, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement obtained by TASS on Dec. 5. "After performing a combat mission over Syria a Sukhoi-33 fighter-jet overran the runway while trying to land on the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier. The rupture of the arresting cable was the reason," the report said. The pilot ejected himself and was promptly taken on board the Admiral Kuznetsov by search and rescue service. His life is not in danger, the Defense Ministry said.
