The news is abuzz with new images of Jupiter. The most definitively awesome one has been this one of Jupiter's pole. It's an infrared shot that gives that sense of scale and vertigo-inducing depth.

In a statement of the blindingly obvious (duh), Juno’s principal investigator said:

But the images sent from the poles, Bolton said in a statement, are “hardly recognizable as Jupiter”. They show “signs that the clouds have shadows”, he added, meaning they might be above other features, like weather and storms unlike those on the system’s other gas giants – Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

There's not much to *say* about the image; I'm only posting it so people don't miss catching it.

Check out the bottom left. There's an interplanetary shuttle craft letting tourists look down. Must be like those glass floors they have on cliff pathways. Gulp!

A trully captivating image. Would love to see a timelapse of this hellish system spining around the pole.

With Juno, we _are_ tourists on a space cruise ship, taking pics of that spectacular planet.

My jaw dropped when it was on BBC news this morning. Imagine it on the big screen TV?

The Juno team will have had their breath taken away when they first saw this. Just awesome
