Great American Eclipse 2017 -- Total Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017 -- Plan ahead for best viewing.

ok, I'm in Chicago, so will it get 90% dark? Is it going to be like twilight here or will it be pretty dark?

I'm in Jersey, it won't be total, but... it should be still worth looking out for, right?

The best part... that's my birthday!! What a gift to receive!

From what I remember from the eclipse in the 70's the light was a bit odd looking. Also in the shade under the trees there were little eclipses all over the place. Not sure how much the percentage of the eclipse was though. 50 to 75% maybe. At 80 to 90% it will probably get dim but it won't get dark though.
