the Buran was an interesting concept, and that launcher looks insane with all the turbines, i would imagine it would be a hard aircraft to fly, and can you imagine once the shuttle let go the jet would probably jump up in altitude a good deal.

The Russians also had allot of big seaplane

I missed out on a rare as hell opportunity today. Going by the Phoenix airport, and saw what looked like an LM-100 or foreign C-130. Didn't give it a second thought or take pictures. Got around by it, looked over, and it was an An-12.

I have AN-12s fly over my occasionally they land in a few regional airports here in the UK. I can often tell when one is above me as they are loud as hell even when they are some distance away. Had a twin engined Antanov fly over yesterday I thought at first is was Piaggio Avanti as they make a distinct noise when I opened up fr24 it was a twin engines Antanov

Are these images taken off base? Or do you have a unique privilege to be able to be air side

There are two operated by a pretty sketchy looking company in Florida, but beyond those, you don't see them in the US much.

The Sea Monster would not fly out of ground effect, as designed. It's called ekranoplane if I'm spelling it right. Fascinating application of flying in ground effect.

So we finally found out what happened to Leroy Jenkins. He's now a pilot for Allegiant.

Allegiant probably just put out another "or else" fuel bulletin. He's taking the short-cut and going cut the engines on the taxi-in and wait for the tug.

Half-joking...

I notice every other aircraft going around. That must have been a rough ride?! Also were allegiant the ones you warned me never to use over there?
