Removed book the union flag is symbolic of everything English. It's the coolest looking flag anywhere as well as my own heritage

It's the symbol of everything British, the flag of St George would be the symbol of everything English.
...and yep, if the Scots left the union I would personally want the cross of St Andrew removed, and perhaps replaced with something to represent Wales. The cross of St David could certainly fit in there somewhere.

They won't leave though, they like whinging, I heard there were calls for whinging to be brought in as an event in the Commonwealth games...Scotland would field a strong team I reckon.

In case it wasn't so clear from the OP - I AM Scottish.

Wow ... I can't believe I have to be the one who opens your eyes.

You ... are a British Subject. It's okay with me if you claim to be Scottish. But, I know, a true Scotsman only desires to be free of government.

We, in America, had people of a stance similar to yours before Independence. They called themselves Loyalists.

I don't think they're commies...I think they're confused.

Extremely...confused.

They hate foreign rule so much they're opting to shed it in favour of ...um, foreign rule.

Can someone explain the resoning behind this? Do they think the unelected rulers of the EU are more trustworthy and transparent than those in westminster?

How can you gain independence by shedding one government and replacing it with one that offers you even less control? It's beyond stupid. Quite literally.

Not commies, not commies at all...idiotic, for sure. communist? I disagree with you...I get that you were being sarcastic but it's misdirected and ill thought out, ain't nobody said anything about communism until you got involved.

I never said I didn't want to be free of government...I don't think you're paying attention...how can I be free of government if I'm in a country that is an EU member?

I...what is wrong with people?

I think my head is melting.

I live in Scotland. I'm from England. I am BRITISH. I also voted out of the EU.

Now, all that being said, I don't see anything wrong with the protest. They have a right to do so. It's peaceful and it's harmless. Will it change anything? I doubt it.

Just because I believe the "out" crowd are wrong, doesn't mean I think they should stop wanting or not protest.

Ah, its only the Scots who are whinging.
They voted to stay in the union, then when we had a UK wide referendum on leaving the EU they wouldn't accept the UK wide majority decision.
It's pathetic really, but hey, it's the couple of weeks of summer up there at the moment so unsurprising their emotions are heated lol

No one is getting their head chopped off in that one. Maybe if the dragon was getting skewered or something.

It needs more violence.

I hate government so much...I want to be ruled by 2!

One local government..and another, shadow government that presides over all.

Because that makes sense...they don't even have to try and mess with our heads any more, we offer ourselves up for it...we control ourselves.

Thought I should add this too.

There are ENGLISH people who are also protesting against leaving. It's funny that we only hear about the Scottish protests, but not the rest who aren't from Scotland.

That's it ... you're doing fine. It only feels like it's melting because you're starting to use it.

I don't so much have an issue with the protest, more the contradictory nature of it, they don't seem to have a clear idea of what they actually want.

And have an extremely warped idea of what independence actually is.

The whole reason why I don't and have never supported the SNP is because of their policies regarding the EU...best thing the british people ever did was vote out of that crap...and these idiotic virtue signalling clowns are determined to drag us back into it.

That is why I care.

What you've got to remember is the majority of the protestors done know the UK outside of the EU. They're scared of the unknowns. "Better the devil you know" type of mentality.

No one can say 100% that staying or leaving is the right choice. It's a case of "wait and see".

Only we are not ruled by a foreign power. We are part of the UK. Some of us just think we would be better off not being part of the UK. You know with the whole unelected second chamber, non existent constitution, propensity to elect Tory governments and love of bombing foreign countries (plus a whole bunch of other reasons).
