What the heck is going on with Trumps campaign?? How could nobody have picked this up? For goodness sakes this man is a billionaire (supposedly), they have advisors, speechwriters and nobody picked this up. It's bad enough part of the speech was copied, but from Michele Obama of all people?

And she copied it from someone else as has been documented earlier in this thread.

Trump sheep trying to play this off like it's not the shambles that it is.

This isn't THE reason you shouldn't vote for trump. It's just one of many.

It's just one of 100's of embarrassing examples that mean only racists and the brain dead will vote for trump.

Where's the purjury thread for Melanie claiming she wrote it herself

How so? PLease explain your reasoning. Whats a shame is the left not realizing this is a TROLL and was done on purpose to illustrate the medias BIAS to his voters.

Quite a few Blacks voting for trump. Are they racist? I thought that was impossible. ANd Voting for hillary after she was caught in a lie is really smart huh? Talk about brain dead.

You think it's impossible for a black person to be racist? Brain dead indeed.

I see you think I was calling you braindead. I didnt say your name so i was addressing the democrats in general who dont think having a lier in chief is a bad thing.

Look if I am going to insult you I will address you personally. the only thing meant for you was the Question to explain your reasoning. Im taking the high road here instead of reporting your insult.

I never said you were calling me braindead, or even implied that. I'm not sure where you got that from.

I guess "my scriptwriter wrote it for me" is an acceptable excuse now.

It's never a big deal when its Trump. Guaranteed if this was Hilary there would be 10 threads crying about it.

Because Trumps never lied.

What's with all these hypocritical posts? Integrity doesn't matter but looks do?

This seems like a big joke. There's even a Rick Rolled reference in there. It's like he enjoys insulting his fans who don't get it. His campaign must be to make Clinton look smart.

Michells Obamas plagarizing for her 2008 speech

WOW! That wonky site nearly crashed by computer!

Anywho....don't hold your breath for any forthcoming apology.

Here are the highlighted phrases that were, in fact, proven to be plagiarized by the Trump Campaign.

Here is an excerpt from a book called "Business Success in South Africa.

"Your word is your bond"

"You work hard"

First of all, Mrs Obama is a Harvard Law School Graduate, and has probably read 1000s of books, but why would she read about business success is South Africa? Is there any proof that she checked this book out from the proverbial library?

Do you understand the legal tests of plagiarism? Mrs. Obama's speech doesn't qualify. Melania Trump's speech does.

Not in a row. Besides, "Word is Bond" is a long standing colloquial cache phrase from the black community, that is often just shortened to "Word". It's obvious that Melania Trump got punked, not only by plagiarizing the Republican party's arch enemy, Michelle Obama, but she "Rick Rolled" the RNC!

This was done on purpose. It isn't a "My Little Pony" ideal that Mrs Obama and Mrs Trump just happen to share. This is a "dumpster fire"!

"Integrity". I think I'm finally over thinking that certainly the GOP will come to their senses, their supposed "family and traditional values" they've been boasting about for 4 decades now, and act with integrity. I'm over it. They only see what they want to see, and promoting lies is no big deal to them. Melania's convention biography deliberately lied when they wrote she had a college degree.

It's now the Lying Party. They're bereft of integrity. When once they clothed themselves in integrity, the Emporer now has no clothes. Time to point and laugh.

In fact she actually speaks 5 different languages.

Its not unusual for Europeans to speak several languages. Many think it odd that Americans only speak English. Its not really a measure of intelligence.

I don't really care what Melania does or doesn't do.

I just remember lots of comments from when Donald was a frequent guest of Howard Stern.

In Europe it is normal to speak 2 different languages, their native language and English (learned in all European schools). Some do speak more than 2 languages, but it is uncommon. And if we are speaking about fluent in more than 2 languages, then that is rare.

To speak many different languages is in fact a sign of high intelligence. It takes hard work, and many years to learn a different language (and often most don't speak fluent even after years of practice). As a good example, the leader of NATO (English not my native language, so I don't know what the position is called in English), has spoken English in over 20 years and he still is bad at speaking English.

So desperate. It's laughable. Melania used a plaguerized speech. Accept it. The people you will choose to lead you are unethical and scummy.

Vote for Gary or someone who isn't a total freak.

Michells Obamas plagarizing for her 2008 speech

No..that is not even close...It is a bizzare case to make.........Michelle Obama copying her speech from an obscure book "Doing Business in South Africa"...

Crazy time desperate nonsense.

"“And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.”

VS
Business Success in South Africa
“...is based upon the application of certain basic truths: that integrity is all important, that your word is your bond, that if you owe a person money you pay him back, that you work hard, enjoy what you do and show a loyalty to those with whom you work and do business. He instilled in me simple, clear cut values and a will to succeed.”

It is not a 'black phrase' as you put it. Here is a nice gem for you.

Since 1801 the motto of the London Stock Exchange expressed in Latin was, "dictum meum pactum". Translated to English it means, “My Word Is My Bond”.

It has been used for years.

Unethical and scummy. Not one of you is looking at the all the words just like you are not looking at trump platform. If this is all you have then it is way to weak to even address anymore.

I did a search for the words in your post above and got over a thousand returns. You must of plagiarized it!

I am pretty sure that I could excerpt the words from virtually any speech and find over 7 words that were also used someplace else.

Let me know if you figure out the difference between that and Melania's speech.

Not sure how to respond to insanity logic.

Europe is conducive to language learning. If America's states all had different languages dominating them then we'd speak a lot more languages. It's more a matter of the proximity of foreign languages to yours that determines the percentage of your population that is likely to speak your neighboring states language.

Example, nearly every American is taught some amount of Spanish because we have a large Hispanic population and a Spanish speaking country is directly below us. If Canadians all spoke French and migrated to the States as much as Hispanics do then we'd know quite a bit of French. Learning a language isn't all that hard if you have native speakers next door. It's hard to learn Chinese in America because the level of exposure is far less and China is on the opposite side of the planet.

Im of the opinion that everyone should learn English and not something like Chinese or German. If any one language should be taught across the world, it's English.

I've met a lot of people with average intelligence who speak multiple languages. It's not as connected with high intelligence as you assume it is. We had a few Mexican fellows at my last job and one of the guys spoke English and Spanish perfectly. He was about as dumb as a bag of rocks. Really.

"Word is Bond" is very old, indeed. But, when Michelle used it in that speech, it was a clever bridge from the establishment voters to the "hood" voters, subtly letting them know that she's their "home girl".

WORD/ WORD UP/ WORD IS BOND

A phrase of approval, or agreement. word is bond is the same but used only for serious agreements in a discussion or situation. (exam. "knowledge, and wisdom of self is empowerment for our community, and we need to teach young black and Hispanics about themselves and build self esteem in these young warriors so they can be better prepared for the new world around them". "word is bond".

Assumptions are for fools. I've read the entire Trump and RNC platform. I don't care for it. I don't care for a group that focuses on regulating Internet pornography or restricting the rights of homosexual Americans. I'm about 100 years past their issues. I only agree with the trade agreement issues. That's it.

Still...this thread is about how unethical it is to plaguerized someone's speech, which the Trump speechwriters definitely did. If you want to talk about stupid policies like making America evermore Christian then there's about a hundred different threads for that.

Another desperate attempt to deflect in a thread where the topic is clearly defined. If you aren't here to discuss how unethical these people are then why are you here? If you're not being paid to distract a pretty straightforward discussion then your leaders are really more like your owners.

wha???.....I went to your reference example and only one phrase was the same in michelle's speech from the 1992 speech that was cited..."you word is your bond"...that's all I saw, or, is there more?.....is that suppose to be your idea of equivalency?

Lol. Home girl and hood voters...those are your words and not mine, but I agree with your general point. Wu-Tang used "word is bond" in probably every single one of their songs. It's just a way for a rich person to attempt to connect with the commoners.
