How did he "cheer on terrorists" and celebrate something nobody knew was occurring except the people on board the flights?
Oops.
Gotta love logic and consistency.

Agreed, many accounts that he was filled with hate.
His fathers comments certainly steered the media in that direction,
he may have chosen that bar for many reasons, not just the LGBT
aspect of it.

Regardless, killing people for disagreeing is just plain wrong. There are some who would do that with any who don't agree with them, for any reason. People can like or dislike whomever they want, but the violence is inexcusable. Forty-nine people gone, family and friends left without them, because this guy decided they didn't deserve to live. Horrible.
I wonder, too, about the motivations of his handlers. Betting he had them, and someone so volatile would be easy to use to push some agenda or other. Maybe more than one.

Tragic, and horrific. My thoughts and prayers go out to the
loved ones, family's who have lost.
There is never any justification for taking a life of another.
It is indeed scary to think this is the second time in the U.S.
in recent months, and many times over across the world.
No religious belief is correct, or justified in thought that
hates toward another human, and to the extent they
live in hate.

Yes, he must have had some contact in his travels, sure seems likely.
Even if it was not on the radar.
These days, too, some people are willing to label simple disagreement as hate, and claim it's no different than jerks like this one. That ends up fostering more division, I think. Terrible for all the families! Forty-nine people gone, just like that.
I wish they'd hurry up and round up all others involved. Still a bit unsure about the door situation, and how he was able, with two single shot weapons, to fire so many rounds, so quickly.

The FBI is piecing together Mateen’s radical Islam roots, and the trips to Saudi Arabia could be a sign of his growing religious devotion. His stated reason for both the 2011 and 2012 trips was umrah, a Muslim pilgrimage to the Kingdom that is not as significant as the hajj, a trip all Muslims must make to Mecca at least once in their lives. Either or both of the trips could also have included a side trip.
