This is a very long article, it covers not only this latest discovery but earlier tunnels as well.

Teotihuacán's ceremonial city center, avenue of the dead, and tunnel location, Temple of the Plumed Serpent.

New threads are supposed to have a short paragraph or two from the op about why its being started, about it and your feelings.

All you said was its long, making many just pass it by...as the 1st posted to you replied...and asked for.

Thanks....MS

PS If its about the mercury or silica found in them...its old news from last year....so....thanks again.

Hopefully, more readers would read up if it was more detailed by description...as suggested by ATS.

Yep, thats got me and many others written all over it.
A brief overview is always extremely useful, especially if it's as long as you make it out to be. Not everyone has the time to go through a large piece of text so having a brief description informs people if it is something they might be interested in coming back to and reading at another point.

However, I will be reading anyway as curiosity is killing my cat...

Pretty good read, for sure...and the best (or worst, depending on your expectations) is that they haven't even excavated the farthest reaches of the tunnel, yet, where there may lie even more interesting finds.

Really cool!

What a painstaking process...

The idea isnt mine. Its in the directions from the Admins/Mods to maintain a certain minimal quality and quantity of definition when creating new threads.

Not everyone can nor will read it now. It helps to define a thread and the o.p.'s hopes a majority of members and non-members alike will read/watch the videos of the information.

Some can't technically and where they are (like work), and now, some won't.

Thanks..MS

Teotihuacan predates the Aztecs by over 1000 years. The city was founded sometime around 300 BCE and had been long abandoned when the Aztec first stumbled across it nearly 1600 years later.

The Aztecs didn't vanish, any more than the Cherokee or Sioux did. They did get overrun by the Spaniards, however.

They found this tunnel years ago, and ahve been excavating it for what seems an eternity.

IT would be nice if they could get a move on and actually find out what, if anything, is down there.

I get the feeling it's being deliberately drawn out.

To what end? You do realize that proper excavation and documentation takes a long time, right?
