Earlier, I tried opening this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

It crashed and reloaded, crashed and reloaded, eventually I just restarted my browser. Safari for iPad. No other threads are doing this, or other websites.

Now I've got "the squares".

Anyone else experiencing similar?

I have had it happening aloing with random 404 messages on all sorts of threads today.

I have also discovered that the posting buttons like YT vid, external link, italics etc have stopped working using Linux mint and Chromium today - I'm having to manually enter the code.

Maybe the site is still a little wonky after that big DDoS attack

Most likely because the op has but a heap load of youtube vids directly into the thread and your device cannot cope with it all.

I am on a desktop running ubuntu and that did not like it so god knows what a little ipad will make of it.

I've never had an issue with it before, so I'm not sure.

My little tablet has a hard time with that thread. It takes a super long time to settle all of the videos.

Thanks for confirming nonspecifics idea. How many videos are on the thread?!

Yes, that thread has an evil amount of youtube posts all trying to load, takes forever, should be pared back, trimmed at least.

It took me at least 30 seconds to load it up. Normal page takes 2-3 seconds.

You should press ctrl+f5 to clean out the cache a little, should go back to normal.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

since we're now in the age of that thing.

dont ask for help, ask for a new device. this website is made for the bestest new thing, not your faulty ipood.

there.

If you're worried about planned obsolescense, et al, just make a thread about it instead of trolling a boring business thread.

Firefox on PC did not crash, but slowed down to a crawl for a couple of minutes.
So I agree with the "too many videos" diagnosis.

Maybe a limit should be imposed? ATS isn't really a personal playlist maker, you can do that right on YouTube. No offence to the OP of that thread.

No issues of any kind here. Phone, tab, PC or laptop....all normal.

What system do you use? You can see all of the videos on that thread?

No problems on my Macbook, but it did eat two CPU cores for about 4 minutes, and use 1.59GB of RAM.

Well , just now I clicked that link in the OP. I have a killer PC with dual 1gb nics teamed . 8 core cpu and enough ram to handle anything. After 4 minutes the page still wasnt finished loading. Perhaps a limit of vids on one post ?
