A new Bernie Sanders endorsement rolled out this week, but it wasn’t in the form of campaign contributions or primary votes. Makana, a Hawaiian singer-songwriter and experienced slack key guitarist, released a music video titled “The Fire is Ours.”

Makana spent over $11,000 and 3 weeks creating the politically-charged music video, which paid off as the video caught fire around the web. With over 70,000 views on his youtube channel and 300,000 views all together, his hard work even brought him to be interviewed by Fox News. Makana explained his support for the presidential candidate by saying that Sanders message was the same as what he had been singing about for years “something that was representing not the corporations and the big banks, but the people and really standing up for the diminishing working class.”

Shaking in their shoes. *eyeroll*

This isn't anything new, he's been doing this for a few years now. It's not only about politics, he's an activist for other issues we are dealing with in Hawaii such as the land.

Eo Makana.
