I think someone is pulling a joke but it is fun to play with. It appears to make "Dates" work you have to close browser, bring up a new googlemaps search, type in keys to the bottomless pit, get the cern result then type in a date into that result search. Only works once then you have to repeat.

Someone mentioned this before in another topic, and several people ended up getting completely different results. Others got the same result (CERN) after the fact, so it isn't that it's simply being intentionally changed.

The much more likely explanation posited in the other thread was that Google "knows" what your interests are, what websites you've visited (including ATS,) etc. and produces different results for different people, with only limited consistency between them. But just enough to seem suspicious because it's designed to use intelligent-seeming associations to begin with.

I consider that the most likely explanation personally, but what do I know?

I got the CERN thing too. A very weird search result for a weird search request. Maybe someone at google maps had a bad experience working for CERN.
