i guess you missed this from the report fusion handed in.

But there is no evidence that the anti-abortion group behind the attack made up dialogue. ...

that alone tells me that they know that nothing the PP said had been changed without coming right out and saying it.

as far as why it was cut , maybe they thought it was to long, maybe it was just useless chit chat. who know other than the people that cut it. but that doesn't mean that it was a attempt to device people just means that it was cut.

and it does matter who did the analysis if they were biased in the first place. give it to someone who doesn't have a dog in this fight and let them do it.

Here's what the law actually says.

It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.

Not so much "IF",

But "When".

No, I didn't miss that and I didn't claim they had made up dialog.

so if nothing changed in what PP said or was made up, why so much crying over edits, camera angles and such. sounds just like same thing investigative journalist do all the time. yet people have no problem when it supports their views, but let someone do it against their view and it's katie bar the door.

See the bold text from this post: www.abovetopsecret.com...

"In some cases, these splices completely change the meaning of statements," the report said. "Phrases on the video were isolated and removed, stringing together unrelated sentences to change the meaning."

I'm not interested in arguing with you. You are going to believe what you want. As I said in the beginning, I don't expect this to change your mind. I have NOTHING to prove to you. I simply don't care what you believe.

PP sounds like investigative journalist, people have views against their door.

The above statement BY YOU was cut and spliced... Does it mean what you originally said?

Too bad the damage has already been done. The images and deceptive dialog is stuck in the minds of many who now only see Planned Parenthood as primarily an abortion clinic (even though they help countless women with countless issues).

Abortion is such a small portion of what they do but that won't even be heard by some. Unfortunately, the loudest pro-life people don't seem to see the true enemy which is poverty, lack of sex education, etc. The ironic segregation of political segregation is obvious.

According to a report compiled by a group Planned Parenthood hired, Fusion GPS

But the firm also wrote that it is impossible to characterize the extent to which the edits and cuts distort the meaning of the conversations depicted and that there was no “widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation.

Just who, exactly, is behind Fusion GPS? Turns out it's an opposition research firm with ties to the Democratic party and has a history of harassing socially conservative Republican donors, possibly on behalf of the Obama campaign:

Well this is encouraging indeed.

How are we supposed to know for sure if they didn't use an "altered" version of the "original" to get the desired results?

Good find, X.
Looks like Planned Parenthood is in full panic mode.
Fusion GPS is a Democrat Party-funded hit group.

Politico & NYT Fail to Mention Report Exonerating Planned Parenthood Produced By Democratic Opposition Research Firm

Just who, exactly, is behind Fusion GPS? Turns out it's an opposition research firm with ties to the Democratic party and has a history of harassing socially conservative Republican donors, possibly on behalf of the Obama campaign:

As Ms. Strassel has reported in recent columns, Idaho businessman Frank VanderSloot has become the target of a smear campaign since it was disclosed earlier this year that he had donated $1 million to a super PAC supporting Mr. Romney. President Obama's campaign website teed him up in April as one of eight "less than reputable" Romney donors and a "bitter foe of the gay rights movement." One sin: His wife donated to an anti-gay-marriage campaign, of the kind that have passed in 30 or so states.

Now we learn that little more than a week after that Presidential posting, a former Democratic Senate staffer called the courthouse in Mr. VanderSloot's home town of Idaho Falls seeking his divorce records. Ms. Strassel traced the operative, Michael Wolf, to a Washington, D.C. outfit called Fusion GPS that says it is "a commercial research firm."

Fusion GPS is run by a former Wall Street Journal reporter, Glenn Simpson, who wouldn't say who is paying him for this high-minded slumming but said in an email that Mr. VanderSloot was a "legitimate" target because of "his record on gay issues."

Politico should have mentioned this. But the pro-life movement has never gotten a fair shake from the media, and it seems that's not about to change.

Even the NYT neglected to mention Fusion GPS' extremely partisan background:

UPDATE -- A fellow journalist alerts me to the New York Times's favorable write-up of the same report. The Times only identifies Fusion GPS in the following way, and doesn't mention any details that might undermine the report's credibility:

The analysis was by Fusion GPS, a Washington-based research and corporate intelligence company, and its co-founder Glenn Simpson, a former investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal.

True. CMP knew that their heavily edited videos would probably never be admissible as any kind of legal evidence. They knew that it would be next to impossible to prove that PP had broken the law. But defunding PP was just icing on the cake for them anyway. The REAL goal was to get heavy news coverage showing the "ickiness" of abortion in order to try and sway public opinion about abortion in general. The pro-life crowd was losing ground on the posters and billboards of tiny aborted fetuses, so they needed something new to perk things up a bit. The videos have gotten heavy news coverage, so in that sense, they have succeeded. Will it sway public opinion overall? Probably not.

However, unlike FUSION GPS, CMP doesn't pretend to be unbiased.
