So what you are saying is that people prefer "Christians" who tell them what their itching ears want to hear, who go with the flow, who take the easy path, and are kewl.

If you are a follower of Christ then you believe what He said concerning the laws. You should be helping your friends get on the right path even if it means that you will no longer be seen as the kewl "Christian".

When God was leading His people to the promised land there were people there already. These people were the decendents of Cain. I won't bother to explain here why God hated these people and yes, God does hate. I will say that Cain, was not Adam's son.

No - people perfer 'religious' that doesn't preach. Be an example of Christ, he hung out with prositutes and healed the sick on the Sabbath. Follow his example and practise of compassion and humility to ALL.

Isn't there something about 'the beam before the mote'. Or as another spiritual paths likes to say "If you Spot It, You Got It".

And the Bible may have been inspired, but it was written, translated, written, and translation over and over by men - who make mistakes and 'twist' the words to what they want. It's not God's (if there is such a being - highly doubtful and not necessary for ethical behaviar) words or 'god's law'.

Honey - the 'god' of the Old Testament Hated (the god that man made in his image) and the 'god' (Jesus supposedly) of the New Testment was one of compassion, charity, and great courage - but no hate. Read the Sermon on the Mount again.

Hey another though - read something Buddist or Hindu or Native American or Muslin (Rumi has it all over the Psalms).

If you want to practise FAITH then do what others have done (not said):

Jesus taught against close mindedness.
