Interesting but hardly a "current event", as this happened in 2012.

That's priceless! Well, at least the folks on the bus were paying attention, and someone was concerned enough to worry!

A few nights ago I found myself wandering around my kitchen/dining room looking at my boots, which I'd just taken off, wondering where the hell my slippers/flip-flops/indoor-sandals/house-shoes (whatever we're calling them these days), were, only to realise that they were, of course, already on my feet.
One of those days I suppose.

I've also wandered around looking for my mobile phone while I've had it in my hand. At least I wasn't actually using it, which is small comfort TBH.

I do the walk. Walk into the kitchen with determination and then forget why I came. Stand there looking around seeing if anything jogs my memory. Go back where I started and see if anything there does. Sometimes that works. Sometimes not.
Or with my computer. I'll decide to look something up. I get my kindle, turn it on, enter my code, get on the internet with a nice empty Google search box and....nothing. what in hell did I want to look up? Again go back to where I started and see if anything clues me in.
This did not happen so often when I was younger.

You made me literally laugh out loud. Nameless bus passenger girl where are you.
What was the ladies name? Maybe it's a common name and just didn't strike her at first. I also wonder at what moment did she realize it was her. What clued her in to that? And then how ridiculous she must have felt.

Not only that but I think you should be the guest of honor. Though not in a Berney sort of way.

Oooo I think we just jumped from common cold to pneumonia in terms of severity. I'm hoping that that's not the beginning of that . Sending healing vibes your way for your mom.

So that's where I left me. I knew I was around here somewhere. I swear I just saw me a few minutes ago.

Thanks for that - we both appreciate it.
She's actually pretty happy in her little bubble. It's the rest of us (family) who have the problem with it I think.

As someone said earlier, I expect we all have "brain cramps", but I do think the worst every now & then when it happens to me...mainly if I forget a name or the title of a movie or song.

Who did we lose again?

What's even worse was that at no one in the group, or the bus driver, thought to do a simple head count.
guess they never took school field trips.

Well it does lend credence to the notion we need to search within ourselves to find the truth! Or, it gives new meaning to "finding myself" or I have to go and "search for myself"! Good for her! She killed two birds with one stone, she went searching for herself and found herself all in one fell swoop!
