Unmarked planes? I thought that all planes had to have some identification numbers by international law? I am sorry I can't help more at present, aeronautics is far from my speciality.

So who can explain this?

Markings are required to be a certain size, and visible from a certain distance, which is not necessarily from the ground as they're flying over.

No, they have to be 12 inches high so they can clearly be read if you enter an ADIZ.

No, what he meant was that they couldn't be seen from the ground because of their size.
