The people here on ATS are an intellectual collection of people and they can understand that when a mass group of people come together, there is no longer an individuality. I am well aware of what you're talking about, I worked in security for fifteen years, and I worked in crowd management, and happened to witness a riot first hand.

What you're trying to suggest is that a whole group of people have been "duped" into acting like this, when that's factually untrue. They have CHOSEN to act in this way, through opportunity, and some amount of peer pressure.

There is no excusing free will and choice. These people have no shield in claiming someone else is responsible for their actions, no more than someone else is responsible for you smoking, drinking, or anything else. If you make a choice, you own it.

You are correct again, they have indeed chosen to act in their own free will. But what is factually understood, is that provocateurs provoke the people so that they can behave with violence and give others the opportunity to follow.

This spirals into mass hysterical viloence, its of course their choice but you seem to think that someone came up and whispered in their ear and told them what to do.

Like I said, enemies of the USA like ISIS could never launch an invasion on the homeland, they can only do it from within.

Does that even really matter?

Scenario A: Suspect dies under suspicious circumstances. Police Department says they will investigate fully. Black people begin to riot because suspect died and they believe the Police are not working fast enough, are purposefully stalling or trying to cover up.

Scenario B: Suspect dies under suspicious circumstances. Police Department puts officers involved on suspension while investigation occurs. Black people begin to riot because they see the suspension as admittance of guilt.

Scenario C: Suspect dies under suspicious circumstances. Police Department fires officers involved and initiates full investigation. Black people begin to riot because now they are just pissed off that suspect died. (Even if it was justified like Michael Brown)


No matter what Police would have done, they would be rioting right now.

Police in major cities need to quit en mass. Completely abandon those hell holes and maybe they will kill themselves off so America can take our major cities back.

Oh wait, if they did that, then all the people dying would start riots because Police aren't keeping people safe. Police can't win.

This is copying the UK riots almost identically. Clearly Baltimore PD and government (and probably hundreds of others) weren't paying attention to what happened here or how that would easily translate to their city.

I absolutely agree.
It's the anatomy of a revolution - a sense of injustice leading to a retaliation, which leads to a retaliation... spiraling into an out of control situation with various factions.

I have a feeling they're going to have to send forces of some kind into this, there is simply not enough police to handle a civil unrest situation this large. The problem, as you say, is making sure those they do send in don't have twitchy fingers.

If this happened every time an officer got a paid vacation without trial for killing an unarmed person, do you think it would keep happening? The cost would become unbearable and the departments would have to crack down internally in order to stay viable.

Do you know why other nations don't have this going on? Iceland is still mourning the first police shooting they've had. This isn't normal. This whole thing we do with shooting citizens and shooting into crowds like it's some goddam movie... it's not normal. We just got used to it.

I imagine most police are starting to agree. It's not like the average cop goes around shooting people nor enjoy the riots their coworkers are causing.

It sucks but these riots should happen when we give a paid vacation as a reward for murder without any sort of trial.

Stomping can cause escalation.


And escalation in a country with 500 million civilian guns is a very very very risky gamble.



The riot will fizzle out.

In the mean time priority should be in preventing it spreading further, isolating ring leaders and arresting them ALIVE and helping innocents trapped.


The police and guard need to keep force non lethel unless the rioters start bringing guns themselves to the table.

No, that's exactly the opposite of what I am saying.
You're suggesting that this is encouraged, incited or manufactured at the bidding of someone else, and I'm saying that's not the case.

These people do not need to be told to act this way, they have CHOSEN to.

This is ALL on them, no one else is responsible for them looting their own neighbourhood, burning places down, trashing peoples cars... this is ALL them, and no one else is in any way responsible for what each of those individuals is doing.
