honestly, all you need to do is hang around a bar at closing time. the big ones tend to latch onto whatever they can find.

No, don't go hang at a bar to pick up some bar hag. You have the right idea. A bunny ranch would be the way to go. Sure it costs some money but she'll know how to please you. She'll be safe. The environment is safe. When it's over she won't show up pregnant or something a month later. Best of all, she's there to make sure you're happy about the encounter. She will know how to please you and will want to make sure you are pleased. Some drunk chick at a bar is just a problem in the making most times.

However, in yuppa's case I think at this point in the game he'd be better off doing it right.

Two words: human trafficking. Legalizing prostitution doesn't actually decrease it. In fact, the opposite happens.

Me too. It should be a choice made with full understanding of what's involved and without pressure. If you choose to take part, you should do so because that is what you really want.

It should be safe and a win win for both people involved.

Otherwise it's exploitation, it's dangerous, it's abusive and can actually be a type of slavery.

That is why if it's legalized it has to be very closely regulated by people who really have the best interest of the workers involved.

Because you're right. Legalized, especially in an establishment type situation, without very careful watch it makes an easy way to profit off someone else against their will.

The best kind of regulation sometimes is for it to be completely in the open for something like this. If all the workers can speak freely about what they are doing and why and so forth it's very hard to keep illicit activities a secret and bad situations would be far and few between. Nevada bunny ranches are a pretty good example. They are very open about what they do and who's involved, etc. The women there are very free and have a lot of control over every step of their job.

Personally, I think both prostitution and drug use should be legalized. They both involve human activities that cannot be stopped/controlled by government action. If someone is inclined to do drugs or get their rocks off, they’re gonna do it regardless of whether it’s legal or not. That’s just the way it is. The war on drugs and street whores hasn’t accomplished a damned thing. All it’s done is pack the jails and prison systems with folks who don’t belong there, ruined millions of lives by stigmatizing them with a permanent record that will follow them for life, and brainwashed/assimilated many otherwise decent people into the ways of the criminal world.

I believe punishing these behaviors is a result of the large influence Christian fundamentalism has had on our society and government. We’re supposed to feel guilty about endulging in these deliciously forbidden, hedonistic pleasures. It’s not nice to disobey one of those 10 Commandment thingys. Something like that... At any rate, the criminality assigned to this behavior certainly isn’t the product of logical, sensible, well-reasoned thought.

Just think of all the money and lives wasted on enforcing the unenforceable. If both prostitution and drugs were legalized tomorrow, I seriously doubt the number of drug addicts or street walkers would increase. However, I do think the number of violent crimes would fall considerably, and our streets would be safer to walk at night. Of course, the unemployment rate might take a temporary hit as all those DEA agents would be layed off. But then again, maybe most of them would just be reassigned to some other mindless duty.

Bottom line IMHO is it’s a no-brainer, but then I’m not driven by the scripture and teachings of the Holy Bible. I simply go wherever my penis leads me...
