So I guess the billions of taxpayers dollars spent every year on defense before 9/11 has been pretty much a waste. Wouldn't you say? Sorry esdad the PA 1 and 2 is nothing more than to keep us under survelliance and under control. It has nothing to do with catching terrorist.

Tell me about it, I am still wondering what's up with bin-laden

And it seems that Al-qaida is still functioning just fine when they are still on the government's mind and in the media that we need all these mombo jumbo of agencies and bills to keep us "safe".

We are not talking of military spending, we were talking about PA 1 and 2. I do not think military spending is a waste now or has been in the past. AS with all things, there have been times were development went over cost or was cancelled.

I do not fear the change that is coming as much as a do a suitcase nuke. And this is not paranoia instilled by my goverment, this is a fact that could happen.

and they (Al Qeada) are functioning in other countries, but not within our borders that I know of. I am sure there has been at least on attack on American soil that has been prevented.

(insert sarcasm) However, If there is another major strike, I am sure all those opposed will change their minds, or 'fall in line' after the BUsh neo-con Draconian Nazi-alien moon bases are revelaed and we all die......
give me a break

Fear and naivete' is a warm and fuzzy place. I'd bet a month's pay BushCo. knows exactly where a nuke suitcase will go off. AFterall, it is they and their cronies who have created these monsters and the weapons they wish to wield; not to mention profited greatly from them in money and power.

The funny thing is that Blair is officially socialist. Seems like money and power can glue left & right together in unimagionable ways....

Our Civil Rights have gone to s..t after 911 and the enactment of the Patriot Act. I do not beleive I was given a chance to make a comment to my Congressman before this act was funneled through both houses'. I must have been mistaken that "the people" had some sort of input in any legislation that required a vote in Congress. The Patriot Act enables the govt. with a wide array of sweeping powers that in fact, does away with the Bill Of Rights we have lived under for years. For all of those who are younger than my 46 yrs. it is very scary. The Patroit Act in essence gives the President authority to actually become a dictator and that in its self is troubling. All the Pres. has to do is declare martial law..and BAM we go from the life of the freedoms we enjoy now to those that will be dictated to us. We will be told where to take a leak, where to buy our food and what time we must be @ home. It is coming faster than I like to see. I feel all it is going to take is another incident that produces mass casualities and life as we know it is going to go from bad to worse. I read not long ago that the govt. has been quietly getting old military bases and other sites in the U.S. ready to accept a massive influx of people. Can anyone say" concentration camps?" I understand that they are spread throughout the states. I forget where I read it but I will look for it and post it when I find it. The U.S. is headed in that direction right now. There is probaly very little we can do about this at the moment but we could make a march on D.C. with several hundred thousand people like they just did over in the Ukraine. We have to let our govt. know that the majority of people here in the U.S. think that this legistration is unfair and gives the govt. machine too much power. I do not know about you but the thought of martial law emposed on us would be hard to stomach. What is it going to take to make people realize that the Pat. Act. is nothing more than a plan that would enable the govt. to detain it's citizens and exercise total control over their lives? The last time I looked we were not living in N.Korea but our rights are eroding faster and faster. I also think that Bush and his posse are just itching to exert this control on us. It is coming so be prepared!

What I wanna know is just what in God's name would actually move the complacent, media-drugged citizens of this country to act? Probably nothing.

In all truth, it is our own fault that the government has grown so powerful. We the people have been derelict in our part, for not holding our reps. accountable for their actions, for way too long.
