Mmmm, I love her! Good 'wallowing' music.

Absolutely, I used to play the hell out of them when I was working on a painting. Always made the mood work.

I live in a city in a desert

Yeah? That's what Beijing said.

Okay. Last entry for stuff I listen to that others don't so much care to listen to.

I really love Ken Nordine, this is from a series he did called Colors.

Beige is scary!

(Ooh, and it's produced my 2222nd post. A creepy colour).

Mike Patton mixed with Twin Peaks is like some sort of Heaven! Never heard that before, that was gorgeous.

PENGUIN CAFE ORCHESTRA.. .sorry to yell, but I have a huge love for the PCO and it is an elite club, but larger than I thought. It's the perfect Sunday morning, it's okay being alive music... for me. I was so happy discovering them back when. I am glad others will hear the joy.

They wrote no bad songs.

PCO - Air a Danser'

PCO - Music for a Found Harmonium

Penguin Cafe Orchestra - The Sound of Someone You Love Who's Going Away and it Doesn't Matter

Simon Jeffes, the composer, was a bloody genius and every note he wrote was catchy and beautiful... some stand out more than others, but just letting the albums or playlists play will produce some life long favorites.

Here's a decent "best of" album... but trust me, there are more...

PCO - Best of

eta Oh and your "weird side" choices were cool... I liked them and even remember liking that Final Fantasy tune from the game... my weird side is expressed beginning with stuff like Eno, Ween, Residents, Eels, Butthole Surfers, early DEVO, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, COIL and then descends into discordant noise and barking... so I don't go there when other folks are around.
Also funny to see the blurb on that album from PCO mentions it being "Sunday Morning Music" ...I thought I was the only hard music lover who needs something hopeful, gentle and substantial after weekend excesses. Guess not!

oh my GOD someone else who loves drones and dark ambient music. Have you tried Lustmord, Steve Roach and other artists like that? I never considered DcD as being drone, but more meditative in a sense. Robert Rich is awesome, and he's done many colabs with Lustmord. They make some amazing long long songs that just take me away. Vidna Obmana is amazing too. I could go on and on. I love sleeping to the music or playing it while walking to work at night.

Some of it puts me into an almost "Silent Hill' (video game) sort of ambience. I love it. I actually create my own music similar to that (dark ambient/drone/meditative) as well as music which could be used in survival horror games and space based games.

One of my faves from a band called Rasa. A different language but that matters not as music is not just about lyrics. If this is your cup of tea, it is very relaxing.

And here is one that gets me every time:

it's chillstep, a band called Blackmill.

and one more:

The Far Cry 3 main theme. omg gives me CHILLS. The entire thing just is 5 minutes of pure goosebumps and chills. A musical journey for sure.

THIS is why I make music for video games. It really takes a player to another world.......
