the red squiggles which say a word is incorrect in the browser. Mine is saying deniability should be corrected caps or no

Ok no, no caps and you spelled it correctly...

I'm not getting squiggly lines when I type it here.

Are you referring to Facebook?

I'm not too sure, I deleted mine after about a month.

it's even incorrect in the window I'm typing it into here. assuming all of Firefox on this OS no matter the page. text input boxes. I'm using an old laptop, but the word was coined 1960?

Spellcheck is quirky - just right click the word it insists is wrong and choose "add to dictionary".

that's true. I've thought about that. It would fix the problem but I've never run into an instance of quirkiness where a real word is incorrect.

why the word deniability? it's ironic that you'd lose any deniability just by hitting the "post" button

More FB sociological experimentation shenanigans?

This time they're targeting the Grammar Nazi's and Spelling Commies.

I know when that red squiggle happens on a word I'm positive I've spelled correctly I nearly bust a logic fuse and find myself incapacitated momentarily trying to parse out what the hell is going on.

Complete and total brain stall.

Maybe they're tracking how their users rectify a mistake.

Data mining minutia.

Those sneaky bastids!
FIGHT THE POWER!

( posting an update in my personal pyramid scheme to get the word out...)

I don't get it here, but I use Linux. As for FB, same result. But as an experiment I began typing random words into the post field and kept going for about five minutes. FB's dictionary nailed several words that were correct and tried to get me to use European variants. Deniability was the only one that did not offer an apple to apple alternative.

I think, in the end, FB just has a case of the stupid.

OK nothing conspiracy about this one.. it also doesn't recognize agreeability or employability.

I need to take a long hard look at how much time I spend reading this website.

I tried it (Firefox 33 on Windows 8.1) and I get the same result, it doesn't know about "deniability".

If I change to UK English it also shows "Firefox" as wrong/unknown.

Opera beta 27.0 shows exactly the same behaviour, which probably means that both Opera and Firefox use the same open source spell-checker/word database by David Bartlett.

It spelled checked that word wrong when I used it in a posting. I didn't think anything about it at the time. I guess even computers can be wrong at times, maybe there is a hidden agenda to force certain words in a bad light that the powers don't want used? I never should have read 1984.

Life goes on. Teach your computer well. It a battle because spellchecker has made me lazy. The brain is a muscle and when you don't use it, you lose it.

I'll write a book when I get a computer proofreader. By then everyone will be doing it. I should have paid more attention in English class.
