Not to terrorists, no, that's absurd.

The second, that's an interesting question...

To the American people & innocent victims, an apology would now seem forced, feeble & false...

I think compensation is a better option for those who were wrongly interrogated.

An apology?
What good would that do.

See now I'm picking holes in the Democrats ideology, they can all shove their agendas where the Sun doesn't shine.

Remember...

"Alleged Terrorists" Since the majority never even had a trial.

Being held without trial is the first apology. Being tortured while not proven guilty is the second apology.

Peace

Correction: should apologize for torturing people that are alleged terrorists but have never actually stood trial, even a pretend one.

Well then BIll Clinton has an aweful lot of 'apologizing' to do.

The current policy traces its roots to the administration of former President Bill Clinton. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, however, what had been a limited program

www.aclu.org...

Then Johnson does too:

The Program was designed to identify and "neutralize" (via infiltration, capture, terrorism, torture, and assassination) the infrastructure of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam (NLF or Viet Cong)

en.wikipedia.org...

Dunno why some people including that democrat seems to think American history began in 2000, and ended in 2008

Hell torture goes all the way back to world war 2 when the CIA was the OSS.

How about a apologies to the innocent people that are killed from USA dron attacks ? How does the US fit the colateral damage done to wedding parties or schools and hospitals ? Apologize to the world for allowing the CIA to operate weather overtly or covertly seeing they do both and if there was a third way they would be doing that too . a reply to: CharlieSpeirs

I'm "on the fence".

An "apology" would benefit who?

What people need to ask themselves is when they are determined to kill us at any cost, and traditional interogration methods will not work.

What are we suppose to do ?

Sit here, and die because were suppose to be all touchy feely with those who have sworn to 'GOD' to kill us.

Maybe ask the question, why do they want to kill you?

Again, I dont see what good an apology would do for those lost in the immoral drone campaigns...

It'd be a slap in the face imo.

I wouldn't want/accept an apology...
I'd want restitution & justice.

I can't speak for anyone else.

Because we are breathing bascically.

Because we are not a religious theocracy.

Because we don't treat women as property and think its ok to rape, them, or sell them as slaves.

Hell to expand this even further.

People also need to ask why the hell we using torture to begin with.

The answer to that is well we did use other methods like the NSA to gather intellingence until the same people whining about torture outted the NSA.

They created the so called 'problem'.

Human Trafficking goes much further that just IS...
& to think not one American is involved in that business is naive.

Because we are breathing

Yeah it couldn't be anything to do with the countless government overthrows and the genocide of millions that caused any of this, it's just because you breathe...

Gimme a break pal.

There's being defensive, and there is sticking your head in the sand...
You've done the latter.

Simple, we are suppose to be better than them.

Sinking to their level, using torture only legitimizes and justifies their rage and violence against us to them, and their sympathizers.

Indeed give ME a break.

What the EFF do you think Arab countries are doing in the ME ?

Like Iran trying to over throw the government of Isreal.

Like Saudi Arabia trying to overthrow Assad.

Genocide of WHO ?

Religion is a CHOICE.

Just what level do people 'think' this country is on, and has been LONG before 2000.

You're denying there was a genocide of Iraqis & Afghans in the past 13 years.

We'll agree to disagree on that one.

What you say about Iran & Israel is up for debate.
It could easily be said that Israel is doing the same to Iran.
So I say let them fight their own battle.
Just remember it's your tax dollars that Israel is using to perpetuate that facade.

As for Assad, the guy is a Despot.
A War Criminal, a child murderer on the level of IS...& that's the only time I'd happen to agree with Saudi Arabia.

Religion is a choice...

Being born with deformities in Fallujah because of the Phospherous is not a choice.

Apologize ?

or Let it go as a Warning?

An apology doesn't mean anything now and IMO they can stick their apology up their ass. Everyone is sorry once they get caught and since it took them being called out on it after they've lied about it for so long any apology now means nothing.

They should be facing criminal charges for War Crimes, Treaty Violation, Treason and a whole bunch of other charges as well.

Even if they did apologize to "terrorists" I highly doubt any real terrorist gives a damn. They should be apologizing to everyone else if anything. But like I said, who gives a damn about that now. It's too late for that. It would just be more BS anyway and won't mean anything.

Bring them up on charges FFS.
