A new law in Saudi Arabia banning ‘tempting eyes’ has become the latest example of female oppression in the country.

An unnamed journalist said beautiful women would ‘be in trouble’ whether they wore makeup or not

The law, which states that women with alluring eyes will be forced to wear a full veil, has been branded ‘stupid’ by dissenters and roundly criticised on social media, aina.org reports.

Sheikh Motlab al Nabet, spokesman of the Saudi Arabian Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, said they ‘had the right’ to force women to cover their face.

‘The men of the committee will interfere to force women to cover their eyes, especially the tempting ones,’ he said.

‘We have the right to do so.’

Not sure if I should laugh or cry.

Brought to you by our Wahhabi allies. Saudi Arabia never ceases to surprise me with their bizarre interpretation of Islam. After deporting men who they judge to be to good looking, now this. Instead of becoming progressive with time, they seem to be regressing to medieval time.
How can we accept having allies with such backward thinking, with blatant abuse of women and with more beheadings in one week than ISIS could ever match in one year ?

That nation is just ridiculous and I'm not surprised they would want such a ban. Those poor women. Why are Saudi men so afraid of them?

I guess this will be enforced on the men also?
Perhaps if we knew the spiritual implications of sex and fantasizing then we would have a differet view of this but we do not so we see it as cruel.

if imagination land is real then porn stars are getting a reeal workout. if it is true that everyone has a good angel and a bad angel then their good angel is forever being tormented. that is if any of religion is true.

Making women pay for the weaknesses of men is nothing new to the world. The severity of punishment only reveals the degree of the weakness.

Nothing like hiding the beauty in the world, and then destroying it when it is seen.

Yes, Muslims from nations like this who have some of the most beautiful women in the world. Such a shame they have to cover this beauty.

I freaking hate organized religion. Only in religion will you have to be afraid of seeing a girl with pretty eyes. It seems like Religions just want one thing: To destroy everything that is beautiful and to rule over its constituents with an iron shod fist.

Like women who dress provocatively are asking to be raped.

What really needs to happen is ---- Laws making men responsible for their own behavior.

Until men are made responsible, it won't matter how covered a woman is. The man can claim the woman asked for it just for bring unaccompanied, or gave a suggestive signal. Or even raped by a relative in her own home, then blamed for it just because she is a woman.

We have those laws. Not sure what you mean.... Over there? Nothing we can do about it. Unless we wanted to "spread some democracy." Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work so well over there.

Call me a bigot I call it realism. Got proof of anything that will make me change the mind they made..
Not talking about a handful of Muslims that decided to join modern times here. The majority of them are all for the way they treat women.

You see... this is the sort of thing which 'bugs' me about this 'Religion'. It's the 'sharia' which i don't want in my Country!

Why are the Men so scared to let the 'Women' be free?

There's plenty they don't want 'Muslim' women to know or think (for that matter), they want to keep them inside their 'Box' so to speak.

I personally don't like the 'Hijab' or 'Burqa' but I do see a Beauty underneath all that garb!

If only the Women could be 'Free' than they could see what the rest of us do and maybe I'd even date one.

perhaps through gentic manipulation women will be enhanced to physically be eaqual to men in greater numbers then now but they would likely loose their sex appeal. beautiful and physical weak is how they were designed and men have strong sex drives toward that and can best be explained as having a lower control deck that takes over when beauty is shown. it is just the way it is.

it is real easy to degrade men for being themselves while ignoring women touting eaquality.

having men and women just being themselves is akin to the biggest bomb we have created. that does not mean steps can not be taken each way but currently i think men are far more being controlled than women.
