Ok, let's confirm it's a false UFO too?
Why would someone fly a false UFO around?

Because there's reasons behind certain things that we can't comprehend. And no, even you can't comprehend it.

But that doesn't stop me from speculating. Sure doesn't seem to stop a lot of people on ATS, does it.

A false UFO?
I never said an aircraft that was being flown by anyone, human or otherwise.
Just strange lights in the sky that seemed to be intelligently directed.
They really didn't behave the way a craft would be flown for any logical reason.

A UFO does not require a pilot or anyone to fly it but it pretty much has to be flying because that's what the "F" stands for.

As a reminder, here is what you said:

That was a thought that I had when trying to rationalize some of the UFO's that I've seen. Satellites using lasers to create 3D projections.

It sounded to me like you were speculating that what you saw wasn't really there. And It didn't seem like you were talking about just lights when you said "3D".

How about we all admit "UFOs" and certain phenomena have us stumped, both skeptic and believer? We barely know 1% of the workings of the universe, lifeforms more advanced than us will fry our synapses.

The topic isn't UFOs, is it?
Fake UFOs maybe.

That would be correct.
I have seen lights, at fairly close range, that appeared to have dimensions greater than 2.
I have scarring on the retina of one eye that I suspect came from one of these sightings.

Considering UFO has been mentioned several times in this thread along with "fake UFOs" it's safe to assume that not only is the topic now fake UFOs but UFOs also.

I don't even like the term "UFO." Most people assume someone is talking about aliens.
I prefer to call them "LAPhs." Luminous Aerial Phenomenon.

UFO can technically apply to a frisbee. If someone doesn't know what it is, it's flying and they can't explain it within their scope of knowledge, it's a UFO.

A flying marble, a hummingbird, CIA front company #26400's secret project or Uncle Martin from Mars, it can all be considered UFOs lol.

Phage,

The 'New-Agers' have been saying for a long time that there's going to be a mock alien invasion, or else Jesus returning, but it will be a hoax perpetrated by world leaders.

They think a holographic image, complete with sound, will be broadcast world-wide via satellites. Looks like they've got a ways to go before they perfect their technique.

Surely you are aware of why governments are perfecting this technology?

I'm not sure if they're going to use this technology to stage a mock invasion but I can imagine it would be useful in warfare.

Not sure why everyone is talking about UFO but...

It seems like this tech has improved over the past 3 years

Why a fake UFO?

To undermine any rational voices of reason that might get in the way of creating a panic?
It starts with you Phage - after the UFO's appear every valid point you ever made is automatically wrong because the UFO's are there and everyone can see them.

ATS rounds on you as we embrace our interstellar travelling overlords who have overcome your low life-form born limitations of matter and energy.

Lets just imagine what happens next...

In all stories of Alien encounters there are usually 2 demands or requests:
"Take me to your Leader"
or
"Who speaks for earth".

Given the current socio-political situation I dont think we could answer either question so we would need to establish an earth leader or someone/a group that speaks for earth..maybe someone from NATO or the Bank for International Settlements??- they seem to get on well with the Aliens...

Give me one fake convincing UFO and I'd have the Pope and Obama posing for selfies with my ship in 7 days.

Anyone not on board is either stupid or old fashioned- 2 things the internet with its social media driven doctrines would never accept so first of all invite some Celebs on board and within a month I am as powerful as Catholicism.

Surely this would have some sort of value?
