Medical Draft/Troops In Effect-NYS

Just received word, volunteers being called for to treat Ebola patients. If not enough volunteers, doctors/nurses will be mandated by NYS to treat Ebola patients.

Just let me know the hotline # to throw doctors under the bus when it goes mandatory. Kinda like they did with the (un)safe act and firearms owners. I could use a couple extra 500 bonuses..

Are they just preparing or admitting to cases there?

That sounds like a good way to start having hoards of medical professionals quit their jobs and flee the state, perhaps the country.

when did the state of new york get the right to force private citizens to work.
is there something in the state licensing that allows that.

The state issued directive to hospitals, the hospitals called for volunteers and if volunteers don't present themselves in numbers in various departments than they will be picked.

You could refuse, but that would mean no privileges to work at that institution. It would get messy very fast legally.

Wow! Can they legally do that ? If you were in the military before and have a medical degree do you know if they can call you back in? I thought after so many years that wasn't possible .... When you use the word draft I guess that's what prompted all my questions

Does the great state of New York have any press? Most people have a web presence, is New York part of Somalia, why are there no links!! My grandma's dog has a facebook page that is updated regularly!

It's basically that or get another job mandate. Most of us rely on bi weekly paychecks to pay bills.

i know some will volunteer, i bet just as many refuse.
