CDC: You Can Give—But Can’t Get—Ebola on a Bus

Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

Sounds like a Lewis Carroll novel.

Wish we could all live in his magical universe.

My 14 year old daughter said maybe he meant you could give it to the person sitting in front of or behind you, not the person sitting next to you. So technically he could be right ..... LOL

Nah he's just an idiot!

Whew, I feel safer now!

It saddens me how our "trusted officials" are this ignorant.

They say this (snip) out loud like we can't hear them. We are (snipping) doomed!

I think someone should write a book: "Government Official Language for Dummies."

They'd make a fortune.

What the hell does this guy have his PHD in ?

Seriously how can they expect to say stuff like this to the public and not expect people to know they are full of it...

That's along the lines of " we can't stop flights from Africa because it would make the spread worse"

Uhhhh since when does isolating a contagion make it more easily spread?

stupid level :master achieved

It's so hilarious. Doesn't giving it to someone mean that someone else is getting it? Where's that double face-palm emote at....

Let's see if Dr. Tom Frieden sits on the bus next to an ebola patient, and strikes up a conversation. Kind of like Rosa Parks, but with ebola.

Maybe this is just him actually having ebola himself. Probably that stage where the infected has explosive diarrhea or vomiting. He just vomits stupidity. *insert facepalm*
