Yes, thanks, Writebol does live there too. That's sort of indirectly part of the OP, or I meant it to be, that Samaritans Purse HQ is in Charlotte and is where Brantly is/was in seclusion with his family.

Let's not forget that it was news in Early August, right after they flew in the first two infected patients to Emory, that the NIH was starting (restarting?) their vaccine trials in September.

Ebola survivor Dr. Kent Brantly has again donated blood to help treat someone fighting the virus — this time a nurse who is the first person to contract the disease within the United States, a spokesman for Samaritan’s Purse told NBC News Monday. Guess Pham is the same blood type. Duncan was not. So now the third time donating for Brantly. Odd in itself, though Brantly originally allegedly got a transfusion from a child in Africa who "recovered."
