I'm throwing in another little weird coincidence: Nancy Writebol (the other missionary who assisted Brantley) lives in Charlotte, NC. And so does Duncan's family.

Yes, thanks, Writebol does live there too. That's sort of indirectly part of the OP, or I meant it to be, that Samaritans Purse HQ is in Charlotte and is where Brantly is/was in seclusion with his family.

Just documenting some more.

NIH: "We May Have to Vaccinate Whole Countries to Stop Ebola Outbreak"

Let's not forget that it was news in Early August, right after they flew in the first two infected patients to Emory, that the NIH was starting (restarting?) their vaccine trials in September.

Hmmm....

Ebola survivor Dr. Kent Brantly has again donated blood to help treat someone fighting the virus — this time a nurse who is the first person to contract the disease within the United States, a spokesman for Samaritan’s Purse told NBC News Monday. Brantly, who still works for the aid group, traveled to Dallas on Sunday to make the donation for Nina Pham, a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital who helped to treat a Liberian man who died there last week, said Jeremy Blume, a spokesperson for Samaritan's Purse. Guess Pham is the same blood type. Duncan was not. So now the third time donating for Brantly. Odd in itself, though Brantly originally allegedly got a transfusion from a child in Africa who "recovered."
