Is it ISIL...Is it ISIS... Is it IS ? Can we at least know they name of our Enemy ?

I thought one of the first rules of war is know your enemy.

President Obama refers to them as ISIL.

Seems like the MSM call them by the acronym ISIS.

They seem to refer to themselves simply by IS.

I prefer to refer to them as a bunch of soon to be dead guys driving Toyotas.

This bothers me and maybe I'm the only one.

This has the potential to turn into a World War. I really hope not.

But, just in case it does, shouldn't we all be on the same page ?

Also, I do not know what all those stand for. Would anyone care to explain.

The most current PC term is IS. Regardless, the President should not refer to them as any of those names because it legitimizes them as a recognized group. He should refer to them as [censored for content]...holes!

ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
ISIL = Islamic State of Iraq and Levant
IS = Islamic State...of complete and utter useless human beings.

It's considered the general area of Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Egypt. It was used primarily by historians and archaeologists, but recently it seems to be more popular in the mainstream. Just another term to remember.

Excuse me, but you can't defeat Islam, especially the “ Kingdom “... You'll die trying. Allah, the Supreme Being could have you all destroyed right now if he willed, with minimal loss on our side. In fact, Allah has declared that only about 300 Muslims will die before the complete removal of the other side.

The way I see it and looking back at Al Qaeda i see that ISIS was the original intent but the symbolic name was too obvious for some. People would be curious why a Muslim crusade would name the group after an Illuminati (Satan, Set, whatever) God, so changed to ISIL, which consequently doesn't role off the tongue and most people don't know what the L stands for so its value is limited.

IS for short i suppose. Hopefully it will mature to Izzy at least it roles better. The name doesn't matter so long as your scared. If your not maybe we'll get more fake videos.

Slick job if you ask me. Not surprising though, it took me almost 4 years after 911 to really realize the connections between "Al-Qaeda" and western intelligence agencies and/or their regional allies, not mentioning any names *cough* Sadi Arabia *cough* ?Turkey? Cough.

I think "ISIS" is a genuine threat to everyone, however, I don't want to fall pray to someone's intentionally created "problem, action, solution".

I'm glad you asked that question. Have wondered as well, but haven't taken the time to check.

Why hasn't our government shut them down on social media? I keep hearing that social media is one of the reasons for their "success."
