Lots of talk of mass arrests going on right now...not sure of the truth of it or if it is just the cameraman's hype - we'll see.

Seems they are starting to arrest some in NYC. It was a peaceful protest. Awesome to see. Now they want to round em up.

You can not block an entire street with your protest.

But it looks like NYC police are doing it right.

OWS Jason Woody just arrested - got outside of the "kennel", apparently.

I don't know anything about this guy - just passing it on. Seen him getting put in back of police van.

ETA: Also Greg Alexander (another OWS guy, I guess) arrested.

Yea I was watching that (the NYC "protest"), those guys seemed more like opportunistic attention whores than people who really care about what they're protesting for. It's as though they were like:

"Hey look at us we're protesting yay! Oh noes, we're getting arrested, police brutality, police brutality!"

...idiots.

They are most definitely on the sidewalk. Once again the laws do not apply to our overlords only to us. As they block the streets in their show of force.

I am inclined to agree with you. James From TheInternet is legit and several of the arrested (Jason Woody and Greg Alexander) attend a lot of these protests. They are always serious about the reason for each of the protests, they are part of Occupy Wall Street and they are wanting revolution. Opinions on their motives may vary hehe.

As for the hoards of other people, most likely nothing better to do on a Thursday night... with a few true protesters sprinkled in there for good measure .

Without even knowing why or the circumstances of the shooting? ATS you disappoint me. Your playing into the game.

What game is that? This has moved beyond one singular shooting. Today was an event to recognize all victims of police brutality.

Actually you can. If you pay to get the proper demonstration documentation. Then if there are issues there are names and organizations responsible.

I am seriously not surprised people have been getting arrested in NYC tonight. Every protest this evening has been surreal. Except NYC's. I live in NY (not the city) and I know first hand how unconstitutional the police are here. It's sad that everyone else in the country is going great and people are getting arrested for protesting marching along sidewalks in NYC. For our fellow country-men/women. I am very proud to see this.
