All this happened right after the White House made the statement that the FAA has not issued any notices regarding flights over the Middle East airspace. The White House said that individual carriers will have to make their own decision. Apparently ... they are.

I'm looking for confirmation. At this point it's unconfirmed and just coming in on 'Breaking News'.

All US Flights to Tel Aviv Cancelled

In a sign of increased caution about flying near combat zones, U.S. and European airlines halted flights to Israel Tuesday after a rocket landed near Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.

Delta Air Lines and United Airlines suspended service between the U.S. and Israel indefinitely. US Airways scrapped its one flight to Tel Aviv Tuesday. Several European airlines, including Germany’s Lufthansa and Air France, also suspended flights. The actions come days after a Malaysia Airlines jet was shot down over eastern Ukraine with 298 people on board.
Following the action by the U.S. airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a NOTAM, or Notice to Airman, prohibiting U.S. airlines from flying to the Tel Aviv airport for 24 hours.

This happened 40 minutes ago. Just 2 hours after the Obama administration said the FAA wasn't going to cancel flights. Our Gov't is seriously unaware of what is happening over there!!!

I hope they are OK as it is only a matter of time before a terrorist attempt to use a nuclear device there, remember the former iranian president saying Israel would be wiped off the map in a storm of wind and fire, that is what he meant I am sure.
Of course if they are then Isreal will and there is no doubt about this THEY WILL retaliate with there own nuclear arsenal against the enemy's of the Isreali state.

There should be a full on no fly zone over israel permanently, just in case some of those scary hamas come out of a tunnel or something.
No flights in or out make a boycott of the terrorist state easier.

I wonder when another cease fire will commence. Or is this it - are they not going to stop until all are blown to oblivion. Perhaps someone has some thoughts on this. I can't imagine this bombing continuing beyond a few more days. What a screwed up part of the world. Really truly backwards IMO.

Ban all travel and immigration from there, quarentine the dammed place.

makes it harder for outsiders to come join the fun too... they gotta stick to those pesky tunnels!!

Thankfully there were no Ukrainian air traffic controllers in Israel to send civilian flights into the path of that rocket.

BTW how did iron dome miss this one? Surely they have multiple layers of defence around the capital
