We all know the history but there is also reality.7 million jews aren't going anywhere,the Palestinians are never getting Jerusalem and are never going to be involved in real negotiations ever again until a leader more moderate and rational emerges.Until these realities are acknowleged they are just going to sit there and rot....and yes we know about settlements,torture,mistreatment of Palestinian children and all the rest of it...so cry me a river about the poor Palestinians if you want but until they get there heads around the realities of the situation nothing is going to happen.

There is so much wrong with this argument that it's difficult to know where to begin. A few facts may help, however.

It's true that the British played a major part in creating a Jewish homeland in Palestine. However, it's worth noting that the Balfour declaration of 1917 said: "... it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine."

I'm not an apologist for Israel in the current awful situation, but lies and disinformation are neither necessary nor helpful to the Palestinian cause.

I don't really care about anthropology or babble and bs from unassailable texts,imperial or colonial history,what matters is what is the current situation and where do we go from here,Im in Austalia I could argue the same points for the aboriginees however the reality was there was a war 100 years plus ago THEY LOST.If you are proposing that they use violence to obtain their objective they WILL LOOSE.They have no tanks,no aircraft nothing that could match Israel in an outright stink their only chance is a negotiated outcome which wont happen till the realities of my last post occur.

Last time I looked it was the Ottoman Empire that lost the war..WWI actually. Ottoman Empire sided with Germany...oops.

Like just about every border in the world this ended up the same with victors creating them, and in this case it was in 1920 in France with the Brits too. They actually split up the Ottoman Empire into five different countries, so I guess the OP can have a beef with all five....
