During the interview, I was asked "If the law requires, will you be willing to bear arms for the country?" and I answered yes to pass the interview. I shrugged it off, didn't think too much of it.
All applicants, both male and female, are asked to certify that they will take up arms or perform noncombatant service in a war effort. If your religious beliefs have changed such that you are no longer able to swear to this part of the oath and have taken up “conscientious objector status,” you will need to provide proof of this and request taking a modified Oath of Allegiance. 1
