Isnt it just possible that you all are letting prejudice cloud your opinions and driving a narrative that doesnt exist to give yourselves a sense of security?

What? How can you pull the prejudice card in this scenario? Are you in denial about what is going on in Iraq today with ISIS? What about the fact that Syrian "moderate" rebels who were trained in Jordan by American forces then switched sides and joined ISIS and are now rampaging across Iraq slaughtering people wholesale?

Do you honestly think it's a good idea to spend $500 million in U.S taxpayer dollars arming and training islamic militants that in all likelihood will turn their guns on their neighbors once Assad is gone? And you want to use the term "prejudice"? Please... Tell me which narrative it is that doesn't exist here?

I see 500 million going to American weapons manufacterers and security firms. Its a favor for lobbyists and nothing more.

As for prejudice...well it fits.

This is what is to be expected. They are running off an agenda, it doesn’t matter what the do is absurd. Obama is following orders.

The addenda is to destroy and or destabilize certain Arab countries and that will be done come hell or high-water.

Israel is a part of this agenda, as you saw last week they bombed Syria.

It would be so efficient to surgically remove virulent leaders, to take military commanders, plutocrats, and politicians out one-by-one, from the top-down. But no, let's fight inefficient wars ad infinitum, from the bottom-up.

As millions of innocent people are continuously caught in the cross fire of these contrived perpetual wars, it has become quite apparent that they are of absolutely no concern, to the international power brokers.

Genocide an integral part the globalists' agenda.

Assuming any group of people fighting for their homes and freedom against an obviouly tyrannical leadership will only be worse than those they overthrow is a prejudiced opinion.

However, I meant that statement in the group sense. All we really know is that Obama wants for equipment and training to be used in Syria. Who says these rebels even exist or that the money is going where they claim?

Can any clues be found in purchase requests?

I don't think it is, when it's clear from the video and picture evidence that there are in fact elements within the Syrian Rebel movement which are far worse than Assad, and have no qualms about butchering people that do not subscribe to their particular vision of islam, let alone non-muslims. This sort of persecution did not exist in Syria under Assad, nor did this sort of Chaos. Further to that, we have clear indications ISIS is gaining in power and influence across Syria and Iraq, and Assad's fall will only create a power vacuum for them to fill.

However, I meant that statement in the group sense. All we really know is that Obama wants for equipment and training to be used in Syria. Who says these rebels even exist or that the money is going where they claim?

Good questions! If these rebels DO exist, what criteria is being used to decide they are "moderates" or that they have been "vetted"? It would seem you agree (at least somewhat) that this could be a bad idea, no?

Can any clues be found in purchase requests?

I'm not sure that sort of information would be available for public perusal. Hopefully, Congress will do it's due diligence in making sure Obama's request is thoroughly scrutinized.

Some factions, sure but not all. You have to figure ISIL is making its own enemies in those factions too. Since we dont know who these rebels are we cant just assume it wont be effective in slowing ISIL (Assad is moot at this point.)

Who is to say these rebels arent just special forces incognito? The boots before the boots?

Purchase orders? Sure we can. What other military sources does ats possess?

I'm just saying that we shouldnt let our Governmental prejudices determine a story that is still just beginning.

Obama doesn't even know what the word vetted means. In fact he thinks the word is feted which would mean he is certainly acting appropriately. He'll probably have to hear it on the news how he got it wrong.

No.

Not a single dollar for rebel anything's anywhere.

And impeach this guy why we are at it. We've got causes galore at home, from crap jobs (that pay less than half what the jobs we lost paid before) to rapidly rising grocery bills and crumbling infrastructure.

No more money for foreign military adventures, period.

Edit to add: I will give him credit for ONE thing: Actually going to Congress about this instead of just doing it himself.

Wait.
Don't run off handing out credit like it grows on trees...

He is only going to congress because he can't access the budget without them...
If he could he would have already...

Good post OP.

This from the links in the OP....

Isis's advance in neighbouring Iraq has led some in Congress to press Mr Obama to take action.

and......

Mr Obama has been under strong pressure from some members of Congress to increase assistance in the area, although it is unclear whether and when Congress would act on his request.

My first reaction when I read that was......"It's in the bag....he'll get it"....time will tell if I'm good at reading between the lines. Never forget, Obamamama being a lawyer will never ask a question that he doesn't already know the answer to.....just saying.

I still can't give rainbows

Oh for crying out loud .... either Obama is a complete idiot or he's pure evil. We have 1/5 of American children going to bed hungry at night, and he's sending $500 million over to his murdering extremist muslim buddies on the other side of the planet. This is beyond disgusting ...

I'll go with Idiot for $100, personally. Evil takes above average intelligence for having to be half way good at something to successfully hide it. Secrecy and sneaky is just...lost on this bunch. Totally.

500 Million could go a long way to enforcement to SLOOOOW the flood..but then, the flood seems to BE the point of the whole thing, so of course, nothing to help will be attempted. Only what makes this mess worse.

"America Deluded Us" Slams Angry Iraq PM, Will Buy Russian Jets Instead In War Against ISIS

It was a week ago when we learned that in yet another diplomatic masterstroke, Russia's Vladimir Putin took advantage of the vacuum in relations between the US (which now wants its heretofore puppet prime minister in Iraq removed) and the Iraqi PM (who has been increasingly vocal against US allies in the region, namely Saudi Arabia, and US demands for a coalition government) and offered his "complete support" to the Iraqi leader. Yesterday the Iraqi leader has decided to take Putin up on his offer (especially since as we reported previously the Iraqi air force is currently made up of all of two "equipped" Cessna jets) and has announced he has bought used Russian jets which he will use instead of US fighter planes in his war against ISIS.

As BBC reports, citing Maliki, "Jets from Russia and Belarus will hopefully make a key difference in the fight against ISIS in Iraq." He expressed regrets over Iraq's contract with the US, saying their "jets are taking too long to arrive."

"God willing within one week this force will be effective and will destroy the terrorists' dens," he told BBC Arabic.

The prime minister also confirmed that Syrian forces had carried out air strikes against Islamist militants at a border crossing between Iraq and Syria. He said Iraq had not requested the strikes but that it "welcomed" them. "They carry out their strikes and we carry out ours and the final winners are our two countries," he said.

Ironically, this also means that, at least optically, the US is now alligned with Russia as well as Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia in the "all against one" fight against ISIS which continued to consolidate its territory in Iraq and Syria.

What it really means is that Obama has asked, and is about to get $500 milllion more to arm ISIS and its al-Qaeda peers in Syria, which in turn the Iraq air force will now use Russian jets to bomb.

What is the definition of a proxy war again?

ISIS Declares A Caliphate; Crucifies 9 Syrian Rebels For Being "Too Moderate"

Erstwhile leader of ISIS, Sheikh Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi has declared himself Caliphate, Amir Al-Mu'minin - Leader of Believers, as militants bear down on Baghdad. This comes as the extremist group demands that all Al-Qaeda and Jihadi branches must now pledge allegiance to ISIS.. if not there are consequences as nine rebels have been crucified for being too 'moderate' or accused of receiving support from Western powers. We suspect this may slow 'demand' for Obama's latest cunning plan to offer 'aid' to only "moderate" terrorists.
