Again most posters come in here and say either guns are bad, or guns are good and stick with the 4th amendment.

The point of this thread is not to support either side of that debate, but to point out mental and emotional deficiencies in increasing numbers are the cause of mass shootings. A happy calm person will not do this, depressed, angry and frustrated people will. Look at the profile of the people that do these. Our civilization is degrading from these mental breakdowns. A rational sane person never kills a bunch of people.

I can tell you from experience it is easier to keep a gun out of the hands of the mentally ill than it is to take it back.

The issue is not taking guns away from the emotionally and mentally unstable, it is making it as hard as possible for them to get one in the first place.

Agreed, but some people are sane one week but lose it the next, all it might take is getting fired form your job and your wife cheating on you all in the same week.

You meant 2nd Amendment, right?

Except, as pointed out, your chart shows individual suicides that are counted as shootings. The fact is firearms violence has been in decline for decades. The issue is not how the people are murdered it is the fact that people are murdered, we need to do a better job of identifying and treating mental illness.
