I am going to throw some more questions Garth's way. Can you you explain the difference between a individual committing a mass shooting and society wide crimes like the holocaust or war crimes?
Can a society still be held responsible for the acts of one individual? Crucially when do individual acts like the Sandy Hook shooting become society wide crimes?

for Semper

a)Can I get an overview of lost badge syndrome
Sub question after main
1)does it have a military equivalent

B)based on your experience what predictions do you make on the security actions the
1)federal government
2) state
3) local

will all take

For the speaker covering the climate change

Has any of the papers taking the fact the poles are moving into account with climate change

We are going to get to the questions in hour three folks.

Keep them coming.

Thank you

I did have a follow up for the doctor can I post it here for a later answer..
I am asking out of curosity not challenging
(The staff does clean the questions very well.. my apologies if it sounds rude)

Their is a separation between the physical poles and the magnetic poles

There is no effect of the magnetic fields on weather?

I assumed there was because the moon affects the tide

Also the earlier leadway was over mars losing its magnetic field

I would assume their would be changes based on strength of the fields
it would alter the amount of energy getting through from sol and other cosmic sources
I would have thought it would changed the

My question is basically is has it been researched...

Good show and thank you for asking my questions yall

Thanks for stopping in, Dr.

You've made a fan.

Perhaps next week you could opine a little on the (recently re-reported) speculation of " vast glaciers buried beneath thin layers of crustal debris " on Mars ?

There are a lot of different things in there ...

If there is, it's incredibly minor. Weather is driven by A LOT of things, but there is no magnetic component involved in all of the major things (solar input, reflectivity of ice/land/water, atmospheric composition and reflection/absorption, cloud cover, etc. ... all of these are major things, none of them involve the magnetic field).

The moon affects the tides, yes, but that's because of gravity (and solar-caused tides on Earth are about 45% as strong as lunar-caused tides). There's no magnetic field involved.

If we *lost* our magnetic field completely, there would be issues of losing the atmosphere, but it all starts at the top. The incoming particles add energy to the atmospheric molecules at the very top of the atmosphere, and the extra energy gives them enough velocity to escape Earth; more rise to take their place, and the process is repeated. But, this takes millions - or hundreds of millions - of years, and we have sources to replenish our atmosphere more than Mars did, so the effects on the ground would be practically nil so far as that's concerned. But the magnetic poles migrating, flipping, decreasing a bit in intensity, etc., won't affect weather or climate (which are separate things).

Charged particles from the sun it would affect. But, not solar "energy," as in the light that we get from the sun that actually results in the heating (or maintenance of temperature) on Earth. Photons (the light) is not charged, so are not affected by magnetic fields (despite what a few certain very BAD movies have stated).
