Yeah I'm somewhat inclined to believe they knew some jihadist was going to do something. Let it happen then turn the story to soldier on soldier to unsettle the trust between those in the military. I'm sure further restrictions will follow. This smells.

I think they'll justify taking ALL guns away from the military before what you suggest. I think that's the agenda.

I wish people would quit calling every Tom, Dick, and Harry that throws on a uniform a friggin "warrior"'. What's up with this "everyone gets a trophy" attitude nowadays? This guy was hardly a warrior. He looks to be a tubby out of shape loser coward. A real warrior would never kill innocent people no matter the amount if PTSD.

Mad respect to the average soldier no doubt. But please refrain from lumping true warriors in with everyone else.

I'm just going off of a show I saw on Spike TV of all things about gangs. It didn't say which bases had gang activity only that the gangs were moving into the military, and my speculation on cartel activity is just total tinfoil based on what goes on in Mexico with them getting their members in and out of the Mexican military. If the cartels are pushing into the US, would it be a big stretch to think they might have some members getting US military training, too?

There were rumblings back in the 90's about this. But I haven't heard much about it since. Killeen and Temple has a lot of crime.

Of course there is gang activity on base. Gangsters and thugs are a dime a dozen now in the US military. They are all over camp Pendleton. Well not all over but they have a presence.

Ya know, soldier on soldier dispute doesn't necessarily mean a dispute between two soldiers; it could mean one soldier in a dispute with his squad, platoon or company. I think what they're trying to say is this is not a "terrorist" or "Jihadist" act, but an act in which a soldier killed/wounded his fellow soldiers over some dispute.

Does seem odd considering the news of the would be Jihadist running around.

they have armed security at picatinny arsenal...granted, they store munitions there, and it's an R&D base....but why in the hell isn't armed security SOP for ALL posts?

They have confirmed cartel activity in my area, (I live about 30 miles north of the Temple/Killeen area) and activity all up and down I-35. So it isn't out of the realm of possibilities.
